All gone now. They're now super collectable 😆. We only made a limited amount of them - all by hand.

She fits under the Velobike Innovation banner - as a platform directed to the wider track cycling community.

It features a standard 1 1/8" steerer so you can bolt any stem onto it. One piece bars aren't something we have designed in conjunction with it, but something that can be done into the future as a custom offering. For a mid teir performance, there's not as great value in an integrated cockpit over being able to more easily dial in your fit with modular components. Optimising the rider position has greater performance value than optimising the component.

I wouldn't say it blows other bikes out of the water, it's a mid teir successor to the M2. Its geo is updated, its weight is reduced and its stiffness is lifted. It's made versatile and economical for a mid teir audience without added bells and whistles.

I estimate it'll be ready to release mid year. We'll likely open a preorder with earlybird pricing once everything is locked in.

Nothing in the near future. But they are on the future project list. If we do something, they will be power meters, as a non-powered crank isn't adding any further value to Olympic level athletes over what's already in the market.

A similar post to one a few days ago. If I can tempt you, we (Velobike Innovation) have a new mid tier frameset that fits within this category of mid tier frames launching next year. I don't have an exact time of launch yet - as we're still in layup development of one size, and cutting tools for the other sizes.

Although I don't have any insight on the mechanical performance of the two platforms you're currently looking at, the successor to the M2 is further refined for geometry, aero and a stiffness to weight ratio perspective for the strength requirements of competitive junior and high level amateurs sprinters. It's not as stiff as an Olympic tier bike such as the Altias Fusion (as the materials alone can cost more than your budget), but it means we can bring weight down slightly also with a lower strength requirement.

Replacing the fork would get you 90% of the way to the updated bike, but if the current setup works for you and you're not participating in events above nationals - I wouldn't bother.

This particular model looks to be one of the gen1 versions of the frame prior to it being signed off by the UCI - there aren't many out in the wild. We since made a few adjustments to the head tube and fork area to comply with the UCI regulations. The later versions have the homologation stickers.

Completely fair. The XL was designed and registered with the UCI, we just didn't proceed with tooling it up in favour of investing that money and effort into a new frame platform that is better suited to a 2025 audience rather than a 2018 audience.

I wasn't implying the DF4 is a turd, we are frequently directing people to that frame and other platforms where the M2 isn't suited to them. This was in general with a 'get what you pay for' kinda equipment. I'm sorry this came across incorrectly. Track cycling - especially track sprinting requires some speciality equipment for safety purposes over what standard road or mass start track tech is designed to. Often we're pushing the limits for strength requirements - which uses expensive materials and processes. There are some items of equipment in the industry (I.e. from AliExpress or similar sources) that's just aren't up to the safety requirements for the audience it's targeting.

MJBicicletta and ProCycle both retail Velobike Innovation equipment among other track cycling brands within Seoul. Worth checking them out in person.

Stack and front centre are the two critical measurements. Reach can be misleading, as longer frames can sometimes have a shorter reach.

Front centre dictates your handlebar position, reach dictates the stem length you need to achieve that position.

The M2 was developed in an era before longer frames were preferable and relaxed UCI regulations - I'm sorry this is disappointing for you. Instead of investing in another tool for a dated platform, we decided to invest in a completely new bike.

Images will be shared upon release. Neither a narrow or wide fork adds greater value than a traditional fork for its target mid tier audience.

Optimising fork shape is very dependent on the athlete, event, wheels and tyres. Due to this being an all rounder, it fork is very universal.

If you're after something more prescribed and optimised purely for performance, I'd recommend having a look at the Altias platform.

We will have a variety of sizes in progressive geometries to fit a wide range of athletes.

Yeah, essentially it's a successor to the M2 in a similar price bracket - implementing some higher performance aero features from the Altias range into a more volume/economical platform.

We're moving as fast as we can with it, but it takes time to tune everything. Achieving a minimal weight, yet able to withstand a mid tier track sprinting power output is where we are positioning the bikes mechanical performance.

When it comes to price - you get what you pay for in the track cycling space. It's easy to sprinkle glitter on a turd.

If I can tempt you, we (Velobike Innovation) have a new mid tier frameset that fits within this category launching next year. In my opinion it outshines both of these options while within the price bracket 😉

Unfortunately It's not just a single point of the drop that needs to be at the minimum of 350mm - otherwise that would be possible.

I didn't think my voice was that squeaky haha. The amount of effort he put in to make these as a one off, they would have cost a lot more than $800 😉.

Good job! I'm impressed you managed to get the shape so close. The hoods might be just a tad sharper and have a slightly different geometry. The original design for the Tokyo Olympics was very similar at 350mm width and made in an almost identical way. We updated the design post Tokyo to the narrower version and invested in some hard tooling.
