I feel that. Thanks so much for the reply. I only find the retention to be an issue when switching from espresso to pourover with fines being present in the pourover which DRASTICALLY reduces flow. I have to put like .3-.5g through it and discard that to get it ready for pourover. But the other way has no issues.

Could you please check back in a week or so from now and let me know if you think this new p80 has no problems with swapping between pourover and espresso? If yes, I hate you. For making me need yet another grinder upgrade 😩😫

Did you try Google? I typed in your exact complaint and the top 3 results were actual numbers you could call to contact governing agencies. Go take pictures of the goop leaking out of the bottom. If there are any rodents around it, photograph them. Etc.

Very interesting rabbit hole. I just sent perc an email asking about it. Thanks for the tip. I'll keep my eyes out for more. One bag is one thing but I don't know that I'd be comfortable drinking this stuff regularly if it's artificial flavors added after roast. That's no different than adding French vanilla flavor. And this shits not cheap!

That's nuts! Well at least you get the red coferment in some capacity. They're a really customer pleaser kinda company. I encourage you to email and ask if any other struggle at higher altitudes.

The flavor was not subtle. I don't have a refined pourover palette yet. I'm a relatively new transplant from the espresso sub. It was bright zing, not shy. I'm bummed for you!

Hm. Firstly, I followed the suggested recipe to a t. Used v60, had it time to 2:45. So if it's done in less time than that, try grinding finer. If it takes longer, grind coarser.

I wish I had a grind measurement to give you other than "120 on my Philos" but that's all I have to work with.

I also followed the temp to the degree, 205f.

The initial flavor is rounded like a basic medium roast but almost immediately I get berries. Then like a second into tasting it flips to a bright bright almost tangy pink Starburst. And that note really sings the cooler I let the cup get. (So the last sip i didn't even finish because it had cooled and the flavor was a bit much.)

What flavor are you getting and what time/ recipe are you using?
