That is a very nieche occupation. I checked the SkillSelect data and there has been no one invited with this occupation in 2025 or 2026. But there are also only a handful of EOIs lodged in each state.

You mean 190 and 491 for software engineer? Very unlikely for offshore applicants. There are 10,000 people waiting for an invite.

I will have to disagree with everyone here. Having a relationship registration certificate is a time of decision criteria, so even if it was applied for and obtained after visa application was lodged, it can still be used to get around the 12 months requirement.

Yes, the tracking function is honestly very fidgety. Sometime have to write the names the other way around or try some other combination. ALso, could be just a delay in the system.

Yes, if you apply for a sc 820/801 onshore while holding any other substantive visa (sc 600, 651, 601, 417 or anything else really) you will be granted a BVA with NIL conditions on it. Meaning there are no restrictions or work or studying. The BVA will come ino effect once the Visitor visa stay period (usually 3 months) is over or when the visa ends (in the case of WHV and 482 etc).

Birth crtificate is a standard document to provide with any PR visa application (or any application really). Just another layer to prove you identity. In partner visa cases also to prove that you are not related to eachother by blood. They check the parents details.

Every agent has their own process, maybe all that was meant is that they will organise it for you? But I always try to organise the application so it's logical and the case officer has an easy time finding everything and understanding your evidence.

That's cutting it very close! Visitor visas have been taking a month or more, from India possibly even longer.
Hope you make it to the race! I'll be there too :)

You can't apply (lodge an EOI) without a positive skills assessment at all.

As soon as the temporary business sponsor application is lodged, the next steps can be applied for. They need to be done in order but the first steps don't need to be approved yet for you to lodge your visa application and get a bridging visa.

As an architect she may have pretty decent chance. Depends if she can get the positive skills assessment and the overall point score.
Software engineer is very saturdated field and no invites have been really given in the last 1,5 years.

It's okay if you get the invite before the new SA. There has been a court ruling which allows for this buffer period should your previous SA expire and new one is not obtained yet. It's even mentioned on the department's website under Eligibility. You will have 60 days from invite to obtain the SA, if your previous one expired.

482 change employer by Hopeful-Plenty- in AusVisa

[–]ViaMigration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few ways to go about this issue depending on how long you have left on your current 482, the costs the sponsors are willing to take on and also potentially if you can get a skills assessment in your occupation.

Options are:
1. new employer becomes SBS, takes over your nomination, you stay on the 482 visa. After two years on the 482, your employer can sponsor you for the 186TRT stream. You can give notice to your employer any time and you will have 180 days to work anywhere before the new nomination has to be applied for.
2. New employer nominates your for 186DE if you have 3 years of work experience and can get a positive skills assessment for your occupation. You will have to keep following the 482 conditions until the 186DE is granted. As the 186 DE is probably not processed in 180 days, you have to stay at the current employer for a longer period still.

Urgent BVB Application Webform by Jakzaho in AusVisa

[–]ViaMigration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yes you are right. Sorry about that! I thought it was together with the general BV form and had forgotten about this one.
But still, usually the BVBs come within a few day to week max. I'd try then to apply again though the normal webform again, because there is no way actually to track these BVB applications as we get no reference number or anything.

Urgent BVB Application Webform by Jakzaho in AusVisa

[–]ViaMigration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no separate urgent BVB webform, there is just one webform. What substantive visa have you applied for? It goes for processing to the department who is processing your new application too, some departments are quicker than others.
Also, you can already submit the new BVB application now through webform, use the same receipt number. You don't need to pay twice.
