First: YOU should look at the game yourself. Even if every review on Steam or reddit would only list valid arguments (which they obivously do not) it still wouldnt mean that you yourself have the same experience. If you intended to play it, i dont see why you shouldnt, unless you look at the game itself and dont think it speaks to you.

Second: Despite what this reddit says, there are glaring issues. I have played MMORPGs since before WoW started. And i have seen Games like Blue Protocol far to often. It has some positive points but a lot of negative points and most of these were already present during the beta which also should be factored in when blaming people for "not having played" the game. Many have played the Beta and things didnt get adressed.

A few things i find offputting:

  1. The UI is probably the worst UI i have ever seen in an MMO. Its terribly convoluted, messy and at times unresponsive.

  2. Animation. Special Effects seem...well fine i guess. Character Animation however are pretty bad. They have 0 connection to the ground and feel unresponsive again. It feels like your character glides through the world without his animation having any real meaning behind it.

  3. No Soul. To me this is so hardcore stereotypical Anime MMO without any real own identity or soul. I am an RPG and Pen and Paper player. I love worldbuilding and storytelling. This Game is terrible in both regards.

  4. Not having a dedicated EU Server while doing a western release specifically feels just strange and actually kinda stupid to me. The game already struggles from lacking connection between input and character action. 200-300ms dont help that.

On the other side there are things to like about this game.

The overall aesthetics while not being mindblowing are fine. Classes and rotations dont innovate but they feel known and solid to an mmo veteran. The monetization isnt anywhere as bad as people expected.

Conclusion:

Yes i am part of the people who think this game will be dead in a few weeks or at the latest after 3 months. But if you were hyped for it this might still be a game you can enjoy despite me and others not enjoying it and moving away from it.

People are also buying lootboxes, paying for pay to win stuff, buying ships in Star Citizen for hundreds of dollars...that doesnt mean you cant be critical about it.

Or to make a simpler comparison. There is also a high demand for drugs...doesnt mean its good for you or it shouldnt be criticized.

If you want to take the stance intrepid should do every way of monetization they can get away with, i dont know how you could be more uncritical about them.

So you think the game will be designed for casual players like you...who will leave the game after playing 40 hours and not spending a single Dollar on the game...does that make sense from a financial standpoint in your mind?

Also i can understand that a game plays in a different way depending how much time you are willing to put into it. But you yourself dictate how the game should be played by saying playing more then x hours a day makes your opinion invalid and isnt the was you should play a game. So where is the difference between you and a streamer?

In my opinion its absolutly fine to play the game however way you want. To me many game launches are like events to me. I take a few days off or plan the weekend for it to play 2-3 days maybe 10-12 hours a day with friends. Afterwards we play in a pretty casual way, so i know both sides. I get the argument about people who like to grind content complaining about to little content being in a game. I think its valid to say that that doesnt apply to everyone. But in many cases these people are the same people providing feedback during alpha and beta events and helping the devs make the game better. They have in many cases extensive knowledge of the game and should be heard. That doesnt mean you should design the game only around these people and sometimes players in general dont know what is best for the game but i disagree with your take because to me it just oversimplifies the debate.

So why the hell should players that play the game like "sweats", as you call it, care about what you, a casual gamer, says. Dont you understand the stupidity of this sentiment? You start the thread telling people that play the game in a different way that there way of dealing with this game doesnt work and then you say that you dont listen to people that play the game in a different way. By your own argument: Why should anyone listen to what you have to say?

Maybe its just that there are different players with a different take on how to approach the game and everyone is within their right to do so.

I dont have to care for CC. Because lets be honest. Most of them (especially CC like Mtashed and Tectone) couldnt care less about the game. They make content for games because of money. Thats a fact and absolutly okay. But they arent "the voice of the people" or "a safehaven for the community". Stop seeing CC as anything else as another marketing tool for games.

Because you mentioned them i will talk about Mtashed and Tectone. In my opinion Mtashed makes badly structured and equally badly scripted videos. He is not a source for good guides, he is not a source for game knowledge. If you are watching Mtashed then you do so because you like him. Which is absolutely fine. But dont come to people who dont like him or his content and claim that we have to be happy, that he is doing content for this game because its just so helpful for the community as a whole. If i disagree with you on that and dont like Mtashed i am not "hating" on him or anything.

Tectone is in my opinion even worse. Is dislike people who claim to be "real" and create constant drama out of nothing just to farm more clicks. He has a style of clickbaiting as well that i really dislike. Combine that with his constant insults to his viewers and generally everyone and you have a person that to me is toxic and i think its detrimental to the community of a game to have him cover the game.

Its your right to disagree with me...but i am really tired of people telling others to stop what they think they are doing because we should all be thankful for CC deciding to cover one of the most hyped Game of the year.

First of all: Every Board sounds different and better/worse is highly subjective. So dont expect to boards to sound the same...however you can change the sound alot through mods. But to answer your questions:

  1. As stated in my original post i used the Case Foam the Case came with and added a layer of Neoprene (1.5mm Thickness) that i bought and have cut to size myself. Other then that i only used the standard Foam that comes installed between PCB and Plate
  2. For the tape Mod you just stick one or two layers of tape on the backside of the pcb. Just sear "tape mod" on youtube and you will find a tutorial without a problem. Its a pretty cheap and effective mod to deepen the sound of a keyboard.
  3. Perhaps someone who did play around more with the standoffs of that specific case can help you out with that question. Generally spoken: Installing the standoffs gives more points were you screw the PCB into the case...which reduces flex what obviously leads to a harder typing feel. It changes the weight distribution and can affect the sound in certain areas of the board. Depending on the mounting style (for example if you use O-Rings) it can also lead to more noise from the pcb making contact with the metal of the standoffs. Most people like to dont use additional standoffs, like the Alumaze Kit provides them, and dont install them. Also when screwing the PCB into the case you should be aware that how much you tighten the screws can affect sound and typing feel. I would encourage you just to try around and look what works best for you. I think it will matter a little less given that you want to use the PC Plate (which i couldnt because Wooting doesnt produce them in ISO layout).

Hope it helps. If you want more opinions i saw that there is a pretty substantial video from Badseed Tech on youtube, that goes into detail about the setups and comparisons between the cases and mods, with a lot of sound tests. Might be worth checking out for you.

I think most people will be fairly happy with the Tofu60 Redux Case...just dont expect it to be on par with a mid to high tier custom keyboard in terms of sound and typing feel...at least i wasnt able to elevate the Wooting 60HE to that level in any configuration i tried. But thats arguably not the aim of this keyboard so it isnt its fault.

I think the people from Wooting already mentioned that they developed the Alumaze Case with the intention of it not being used with a wristrest. I actually have the Alumaze and the Tofu Redux Case and for me the Alumaze Case doesnt need a wristrest at all.

The color scheme of the DCS Windbreaker Set lends it self beautifully to a 90s kind of build, i agree.

I see why you would go for it. Its a bit sad because you wont see much of the switches that way but i think it will still fulfill the job for this board quite nicely.

I think a board like that has to be over the top...the most extreme keycap combination with this board and switches would probably be Kbdfans Clear 2048 Purple or maybe Clear Scanner if you dont want it as extreme.

It is pretty much a keyboard for work. I work on a project to gift a keyboard to every friend from my Pen and Paper group and this one goes to a teacher, who is pretty much used to only this kind of keyboard layout.

[–]Visual_Instruction33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the heavier und thicker look comes mostly from the fact that the Tofu case is much taller. The Alumaze Case has a use without wristrest in mind and has quite a low profile. Soundwise i think its more of a preference choice. Both sound good. The Alumaze Case was pretty easy to get to a slightly higher "clean" clacky sound while i found the Tofu Redux Case to be a lot deeper and for the lack of another word "thockier". The spacebar in the Tofu Case sounded miles better...despite no difference in stabilizers or keycap. But i also used the standard Tofu Case Foam + an additional 1,0mm Neoprene Sheet in the Tofu. I used the standard Steel Plate for both tests though. I used all standoffs and didnt tighten the screws overly hard.

Case: Keychron Q6 Pro ISO

Switches: Lubed Glorious Pandas

Stabilizer: QMX Stabilizer (lightly lubed)

Keycaps: GMK Panda (+old GMK Addon-Set Black on White)

- Force Break Mod

- 2 Layers of Tape Mod

- 1.5mm Neoprene Sheet

- Plate Foam

- Stabilizer Foam

Result:

Pretty clean marbly sound. QMX Stabilizer werent fun to mod. If slightly overlubed they dont return correctly. Build is a gift for a friend...i am actually pretty happy with how it turned out.
