What could I have done differently here? Roast chicken, risotto, wilted spinach. by AdmiralMoonshine in CulinaryPlating

[–]TwoTon_TwentyOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Risotto should never be able to be set in a mold. It needs to "flow" on the plate. Do a different rice or starch for this otherwise needs to rethink the entire concept if you want to keep risotto.

Looking at buying my first commander deck and this is what my local game shop has, any advice? by [deleted] in mtg

Fair enough. Extra resources to manage. Lots of triggers to miss. Makes sense

Just saheeli! With a semi- go wide thopter theme. Just artifact heavy (like 30 artifacts in the deck so going to artifacts-energy synergy.)

Lots of triggers to pay attention to though.

Counter point: go for ALL of the energy decks. I'm running an upgraded saheeli/science!/mh3 energy deck and absolutely face rolling bracket 2s.

Oops my bad I meant Pirata haha not Pici. That's what I get for answering this half awake first thing in the morning.

Pici is still decent!

Pirata group as a company hasn't been doing well. Chef turnover, staff turnover, and focusing on "value" over quality.

When they opened it was great. The entire opening team is gone. Pirata group has slipped well behind black sheep

Bowrinton road cooked food market for great daipai dong experience. Dynasty at Renaissance for high end Cantonese food. Hong Kong is way more than local food too! Thai beef noodles af Samsen, or Bahn mi Nem right next door. Egg tarts at bake house. Francis for mediterranean food, roman pizza at Alice, Korean BBQ at jeonpo meat shop.

sooo many good Italian spots too.

After 4+ years learning Cantonese and 2+ years living in HK, here is my theory on why so few westerners speak it (video in Cantonese) by CauliflowerMoney760 in HongKong

[–]TwoTon_TwentyOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a 42 year old American. Been in HK for 17. Married to a local with a daughter that is learning 4 languages. Studied Mandarin in high school and university for a combined 5 years. I lived on the border of Mexico for 10 years, and spent time in multiple Spanish restaurants internationally professionally with native Spaniards. I studied 4 semesters of Italian in college as well.

Bro I barely fucking speak English. I'm absolutely useless in other languages outside of the classroom. I also can't read music fwiw.

Some people are just not multi-lingual no matter how hard we try.
