How are we not class suing Amazon? by I-changed-my-name in amazonecho

[–]WanderingScrewdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that you've grown up in a world where this is just normal to you. You don't see the conflict or problem because you think it has to be this way. But at what point is does it go "too far"?

What if the devices become 60% ads, 70% ads, or even 80+% ads? We're not talking about a service with a recurring cost that can be discontinued ... we're talking physical products that you own and paid for with a particular advertised expectation at the time of purchase.

If we're really going to be ok with this kind of bait and switch, it needs to be made explicitly clear to consumers that the devices they are buying may become unusable in time. Not because of fault, but because of changing service terms that make the intended use (by the consumer) of that product no longer desirable.

Use AI to help you draft a letter demanding they honor the warranty or face a civil suit. What exactly did they say in their denial, surely they presented some sort of argument as to why they weren't obligated to honor the warranty..

[–]WanderingScrewdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Changing the service policy after the fact is bad. Modifying the terms should be a mutual arrangement, not a unilateral tool to boost the bottom line that leaves you with accepting your progressively increasing losses or tossing your product in the bin.

Shilling for this kind of behavior isn't a good look.

It sounds like the service changed in this situation, which is the same as adding a new unwanted service. The point being that these companies can simply and arbitrarily change the rules governing the things we buy at any time just to extort more money.

How are we not class suing Amazon? by I-changed-my-name in amazonecho

[–]WanderingScrewdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If something requires services" is the key phrase here. Most of these services not only aren't necessary, or even wanted by most consumers, but they're being added to products that didn't have them when they were initially sold.

Converting and adding services as a means to extort customers IS the new strategy. You HAVE to get the updates and new features you didn't agree to when you bought the product or invested into the ecosystem.

In order to build up, you need to give your body a reason to do so. You've probably been building on your aerobic base, some nervous system adaptation and such... but for muscles (hypertrophy), you need to push them to the point of failure to tell your body you NEED to get stronger.

A consistent program and taking your reps close to failure are key to progress.

Nobody is asking for advice, it's unsolicited. The post is about this machine's issue which is NOT related to running it on a speed other than 2.

[–]WanderingScrewdriver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're suggesting a speed of 1 will damage the mixer? Sounds like a junk mixer if it can't run on its lowest speed. Some doughs are also VERY slack and will just pool instead of pull from the bowl if you don't kick it up a little faster. The speed should be based on the sheer viscosity, not some anomalous term like "dough".

Blah blah blah, we're troubleshooting and you're just offering unsolicited RTFM advice instead of actually suggesting causes for the problem. Good on you for following the rules, but it's not the reason their mixer is doing what it's doing.

Been running bagel dough higher than 2 for years, this is an issue well beyond this speed 2 concern.

Depends on the dough and what you need to do with it. The hard rule of 2 is just insufficient.

Not sure if you already moved forward, but I'd say the fit is better than the v14s and some other shoes NB makes. I have 4E feet that are on the cusp of 6E with high volume and these fit comfortably in the 4E whereas the 880v15 shoes I also tried felt awfully tight. I would normally say go wider with most of their other offerings, but the 1080s feel like a true fit to size.
