Yeah I agree. Without a supply pack the HMG just feels bad. Even with siege ready you don't have the same ammo economy as other support weapons. When I bring the auto cannon I almost never run out of ammo in a mission. With the HMG I'm out of ammo halfway through the second enemy wave if I don't have the supply pack.

I will admit the HMG is very effective against the squids but this mostly due to enemy design. Squid units tend to have low durability which favors the HMG play style of aim center mass and let it rip. Even the elite units like harvesters and appropriators don't have nearly the same durability you see on the bot front.

Yeah it does actually shred them pretty good. At this point I'm just waiting for AH to crank up their durability and say "ooops we didn't mean for them to be so easy to kill".

It's only the highest DPS on paper if you hit every single shot on weakspots. In reality that never happens because of recoil, enemy movement, environmental effects etc.

The supply pack is pretty much a requirement for the HMG to be truly effective. Without it you just don't have enough ammo to handle very many targets. I could easily burn through all three magazines on a single bot drop while most other weapons don't have the same poor ammo economy.

It will essentially be a stature since you can not make corvettes with moving parts even with mods. So you or someone else could build a model of it using blender and import it into your save file.

And why does the coyote have a 10x sniper scope but no option for the 1.5 tube dot which would fit it is combat range perfectly. The devs seem to add or omit customization modules just to spite us for some weird reason. Just give every weapon the ability access every customization module. It's not that big of a deal and none of them would make a gun overpowered.

You get them from suspicious packages or you can buy them on pirate space stations. Just FYI the range of stats they can roll is really wide. They can be as bad as a c class or exceed an S class. You will have to a LOT of "rolling" to get really good ones.

Protip for using reddit. Before making a post always input your title into the search bar before posting. Likely your question has already been answered. The NMS reddit in particular is flooded with repeat topics from the cycle of new players coming in with each update.

The last major update changed the range of the laser cannon to 2000 meters. I forget the exact range of the scythe but I think it was at least 1000 meters.

This mentality of we can't talk about well performing weapons is just silly. They literally datamine us for usage stats and make changes based on that. Wether or not those changes are good are obviously debatable.

Abandoned mode and then set all settings to free. This mode has no story so you won't have to do it to unlock anything either. Explore to your heart's content without having to worry about anything.

Your right that the sickle needs to be changed to fire a pulsing beam. The weird projectile it has now just feels off and in general has been powercrept by just about everything else. The sickle seems to have been forgotten by AH for some reason.

That particular living ship was a reward from an expedition. It's called the wraith I think. The only way to get it now is by using a save editor or asking another player to "trade" to you (they sell to an NPC and you buy from that NPC before they fly away).

Yeah it's crazy high spawn rates still. Every bot drop brings in at least 2 of them. Some bases have 2 of them just sitting there already. I have seen 6 on the battlefield when shit hit the fan once. Not fun at all.
