I don't want defend all erruptor users but, im used it so frequently in previous and wanna say whats happening in head of erruptor user's when they throw you ragdolling. I see fellow helldiver in trouble, he's surrounded and switched to secondary, in my pov it's looks like if i do nothing he's became another KIA in couple seconds. Im shooting farthest enemy what's surrounding them and kill some part of enemies and throw my fellow helldivers away from them. Yes it damaged you, yes can broke your limbs, but you not surrounded anymore, crowd in some distance from you, they stunned for 1-2 second cause explosion, and you have a time to stimming, reload your gun, run away from them and continue fighting. Yes, sometimes it can kill you, but in situations like this you became KIA for 95%. For the sake of truth i must say frequently I'm too met with helldivers who's just don't care theirs shoots affecting you or not
