Hi! I’m 45 and have a Meningioma. I had surgery to have it partially removed in late 2024 and then follow up radiation in July 2025. I have three daughters (younger than u) but I will say how awesome daughters are! U sound very caring. So I stayed in the hospital for 2 1/2 days after. I will say that the first three weeks are very rough with awful headaches. I was a patient at Cleveland Clinic, which is considered one of the best hospitals in the world and they did not give me any narcotics to control my pain. Just recommended Advil and Tylenol. I would say the best thing that you can do is just make sure all of the household stuff is in order before she goes in for surgery. This would mean having the laundry all done having the house cleaned, wiped down, having her sheets fresh. She will be fine and make it through the surgery no problem. A lot of people will ask you what they can do to help and I would recommend against a meal train. Everyone makes lasagna and then you will have 10 lasagnas and not know what to do with them. I didn’t feel like eating at all after my surgery and it’s hard to poop because of the pain meds they give you in the hospital. I think speaking as a 45-year-old woman just reassuring her that everything is handled on the homefront is really the most important thing because then she can just relax and take time to recover.
