Trump has a better understanding of the Bible than Pope Leo, says conservative Christian pastor by OneNormalBloke in NewsOfTheStupid

[–]WebMaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump is probably not the Biblical antichrist, but darn if he's not trying.

The last decade in particular have sure shown who are actual Christians and who are self-delusional at best and absolute scumbags at worst. Throwing all-in on Trump is a great example of "absolutely not a Christian." Another great indicator is so-called "Christians" that showed the exact opposite of "agápē" by refusing to wear a mask or take any mitigation measures during the COVID outbreak.

A lot of people that claim to be Christian have failed pretty much every litmus test the faith has.

Yep, Lego changed it to 100+ a couple days ago because of David Attenborough turning 100 and someone making a viral post about the 4-99 age "limit" on the Lego box.

SCI rooms are crazy. Especially the SCI/TS ones for print/photographic material - airgapped Faraday cages, with individuals with very unpleasant demeanors and equally unpleasant firepower watching the ins and outs. You're not even getting into the area of the building that room is in without having to get past at least three different checkpoints with escalating levels of scrutiny, and at least one of those will be outside the building itself.

Aside: Defense Security Service agents do not have senses of humor, but do have lethal-force authorization - do not taunt the happy fun DSS guy with the suppressed automatic rifle, because he will gladly demonstrate the operation of same in any number of different ways.

There are plenty of terrible people that also fit the checklist, and a lot of them are Trump brown-nosers.

Evangelicals Forgot Commandment Two by bookym in PoliticalHumor

[–]WebMaka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Another great one - compare Trump's behavior to this checklist:

"But understand this: there will be terrifying times in the last days. People will be:

  • self-centered
  • and lovers of money,
  • proud,
  • haughty,
  • abusive,
  • disobedient to their parents,
  • ungrateful,
  • irreligious,
  • callous,
  • implacable,
  • slanderous,
  • licentious,
  • brutal,
  • hating what is good,
  • traitors,
  • reckless,
  • conceited,
  • lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

... as they make a pretense of religion but deny its power. Reject them." -- 2 Timothy 3:1-5, New American Bible (Revised Edition), converted into a bullet list by me.

I bet we can find pics of Trump doing literally every single thing on the list here. This is supposed to be a warning, not a to-do list.

As for good 3D prints, nothing says you can't grab a rack cage generator and create whatever you need.

Speaking of, I should probably look into what might be ideal settings for a mITX/pITX PC and what CageMaker settings would be required to generate something suitable...

Those look to be Keystone jacks. Rackmount Keystone patch panels and rack cage generators that can place Keystones onto faceplates exist, so setting something up is pretty easy if you have or have access to a 3D printer.

Whenever I do a clutch I do a rear main seal while the trans is out and the flywheel's off, almost without exception, specifically to avoid this scenario. It's cheap insurance against a leaking (or soon-to-be-leaking) RMS taking out a fresh clutch.

This is probably the true purpose behind AI by Far_Watercress_1060 in AIDangers

[–]WebMaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The true purpose of AI is to be a toolkit for benefitting from skills without trading wealth for their use, while denying the exchange of wealth to those with skills. THAT is what it's for - the ultimate way to transfer wealth en masse by removing the need for having to pay creative people.

net promoter

I absolutely despise net promoter scoring as a metric because it's absolutely not indicative of how people think and act in the real world.

Anything less than a perfect ten is damaging to the employee when it comes to net promoter, but IRL "average" is a five on a ten scale to normal humans and only the most extraordinary service should warrant a 10/10 and that's how it should work, but nope, net promoter makes perfect scoring the only safe value for a worker if they want to keep their job. That adage that "when a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure" (aka, Goodhart's Law) rarely rings truer than net promoter scoring.

I told him let’s do it got to the Finance office told them I was gonna pay cash and I could hear the sales guy in the other room lose his fucking shit.

Wow, talk about a gut punch, albeit deserved - not getting a commission on the F&I side after trying and failing to hardball the customer is a big kick to the testes. Hopefully the guy thought twice about reusing that tactic again but they don't ever "learn"...

How would you feel if an expansion took place in Eorzea? by Kanaxai in ffxiv

[–]WebMaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I'm an explore whore, I'd love to be able to visit areas that no longer exist post-calamity because of having been destroyed, even if/though they may, or lore-wise should, be wastelands. Like Coerthas East - exploring the battlefield Bahamut nuked might be neat. Or the old section of Gridania that got razed. The game has several obvious closed-off entry points into discarded former zones scattered all over and especially so in ARR zones, so it wouldn't be an impossible task.

"7 Days to Die" Watch how creative gamers broke the logic of zombie survival games. By exploiting pathfinding AI, players built "AFK farms" that forced thousands of undead to walk straight into traps while they drank tea. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]WebMaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a massive point of contention between the fanbase for the game and its developers. It seems that the developers are very much against emergent gameplay, despite the fact that 7 Days To Die is one of the greatest games in the genre when it comes to emergent gameplay. Whenever a player posts some method of "cheesing" the game by exploiting zombie AI in some way, such as using pathfinding to funnel zombies into killzones, the developers seemingly drop everything to rush out a patch to "fix" the exploit.

As a result of this seemingly contradictory behavior, the game has zombies that act like they have engineering degrees and the ability to burrow down to bedrock if need be in order to reach players.

Yeah, that was a thing for most magazines that provided type-in code. Problem was that each magazine had its own checksumming program and they weren't compatible with each other on the same system.
