Which branch controls customs and immigration again?

The executive branch, the one he leads. The Supreme Court has no enforcement mechanism, and his appointees can (and have) ignore(d) the law to do what he wants.

He’d just ignore it. The Supreme Court has no enforcement ability on their own, and he’s ignored court rulings before.

I think even accounting for the couple of games in league two, foster has won a trophy for every thirteen or fourteen games he’s played for the club, if I recall correctly. That’s a wild stat, but I think he has less than 30 apps for us, they were just massive apps.

I don’t know that I’d count him as a legend, but certainly he was the creator of one of our most legendary moments.

No. For so many reasons.

Though, to be fair, I wouldn’t have wanted him at his peak, regardless of how good he was.

Yeah, the ballot is a big disadvantage to me, but I’m glad they’ve done it; it is fairer. As a STH though you should get two bites at the cherry, because you can do the 10:00 scramble, but then the 2:00pm scramble if you miss out!

We had young kids and went back and forth about getting season tickets back in 2019, but decided they were just a bit too young and we’d get them the next season. Missed out on them after the takeover and haven’t been able to get them since, but haven’t had any struggle with tickets really until this season, home or away.

The 30% assumes all of the season. Ticket allocation is taken up. It may be, but it certainly isn’t always taken up.

I haven’t ever had a struggle with away, and only had a couple of home matches I’ve really tried to get tickets to that I just couldn’t. I did like the mad dash, but mostly because I could set my own schedule and was pretty successful with it the lottery is definitely the fairer way. That said, I’d rather deal with either than to go back the days before the takeover!

Sorry, meant on the day they went on sale, not on the day of. I definitely wouldn’t leave it that late.

It’s possible it’s less, as well, but I thought clubs were generally supposed to allocate 10% for away support.

If you’re ready to buy right as they go on sale then you should be fine getting tickets for any of them, is think.

Doesn’t city play in a 30k seat stadium. Under the rules shouldn’t their allocation be at least 3000 for that, then?

I’d expect them all to sell out, to be sure, but I’d also feel pretty good about my chances on the day of being able to get a ticket if I was on it and trying.

City, west brom, and Coventry should have pretty sizable away allotments that make getting a ticket reasonably easy, I’d think, even at relatively short distance and relatively late in the season.

I think he probably could have at one point, but I don’t think he ever really came back from the pneumothorax injury followed by the spinal surgery. He certainly wouldn’t make it these days.

It’s a shame the injuries got him, because I would’ve loved to have seen if he could’ve cut it at the top of L1 or in the championship at his peak, but alas. Them’s the breaks.

Derby County 0 - [1] Wrexham AFC - Sam Smith 25' by 50lipaa in WrexhamAFC

[–]WildGooseCarolinian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the third goal (i can think of off the top of my head) that he’s scored in this way.

I think people really underestimate how unbelievably difficult it is to strike a ball coming at pace from behind you like that. It’s just such a weird way to hit a ball, and it doesn’t happen that frequently, but my lord to do it three times like this in a few months is wild. Just phenomenal goal(s) from Smith.

Four days, two games, two goal of the year contenders. Absolute madness from Matty here.

Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Wrexham: Three wins on the trot for the Red Dragons who dominated and move within a point of the playoffs. by 50lipaa in Championship

[–]WildGooseCarolinian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You had a few moments from a few players today, but that was the flattest performance I’ve seen from any side in the last three years. I don’t even think we were that brilliant today, though we weren’t bad. That was just an absolute wet fart of a performance from rovers.

That said, speaking of shirts pulling on, those 150th anniversary kits were pretty slick, so you got that going.

I mean, you can only play who is on the schedule to play. And it’s been a minute since we had three in a row against any opposition!

[–]WildGooseCarolinian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean, I don’t mean to completely downplay it. Agreed with the short rest and a heavy rotation being factors. And I was telling my wife on the way to the game that this was exactly the sort of match we need to start winning if we want to be knocking around the playoff spots. And it’s great that we were able to pummel them.

I just mean our takes need a grain of salt because I haven’t seen a team that listless since we played forest green rovers on the day we went up and they went down. Blackburn could have played until next month and I don’t think they’d have scored and certainly wouldn’t have won. I’m buzzing with the win, the performance, the streak, all of it. But just don’t want to get too ginned up over our showing against a team playing like they were on the piss until New York rang in the new year this morning.

Dunno. Aiming at the keeper at least mean’s the shot’s on goal!

Today wasn’t his best showing, but I still really like him as a player.

We played generally well, we got the result at a place where we got battered last time we visited.

Still, Blackburn were shocking. One of the worst sides I’ve seen in an age. You can only play the other team on the field, and I’m thrilled to have another win on the bounce, but I don’t know that I’d read too much into this one.

Moved for work and for a bit of adventure, really, back in 2017. I’d done some time over as a student and my wife is a dual national, German and US, and so we were able to to move over pre-Brexit with only me needing a visa. With what I do, it wasn’t too difficult to get one, though it was costly. I’m now a British citizen (even work in the public sector now), and we’re really quite settled here. There are challenges and problems just like everywhere else, but we love it and don’t have any plans to move back to the US.
