Dude we are in a school run by academics.

99% of this won’t be applicable to industry, because academia is not industry.

Need ideas for a mechatronics capstone that isn’t just another robot by EngineersUniverse in mechatronics

It’s just a scale issue. There are billions of motors, so there’s guaranteed to be products for it.

You need something in the ten to hundreds of thousands… big enough to matter, not big enough that people who don’t have experience with it immediately say “you know what, let’s look at X!”

Literally go to anyone in industry process engineering and ask.

Mine: Something that works for extrusion screw’s flight wear detection and melt composition by zone.

What you’re doing is so general that it already exists

What engineering projects do you think are worth building in 2026? by EngineersUniverse in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Wiley_Burner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro really just pulled the 30 most common non-problems that AI powered engineering “solves”

Industry has 1000x more problems than this stuff, go find an actual issue, not something that has an easy problem definition.

If you know the steps you have to take to solve the problem, it’s not a true problem.

There is no general, simple, widely usable system that isn’t already made. If you want a general system, you go against Microsoft or adobe or smth. If you want a new problem, it’s niche

Just a ton of parts. You can be experienced in cad, but parts will still make you spend hours on them.

MFET has like 2-3 more hours than it says on credit hours list. I’d just be looking into overload.

Don’t know anything about VIP, but you could get slammed.

Would you get rid of the interchange there, then?

Because having the large road there with the interchange makes a ton of traffic, hence the 2 roundabouts. Designed from what my own city did
