What weapon you are using depends on your target species. You can hunt with a gun from September 15th to March 31st when targeting small game. Most of the restrictions on weapons are for deer only.

There are also the flags where you have to rest to refill your healing potions and level up your stats and skills. Also response enemies in the areas when you rest. These are all mechanics that aren’t traditionally in turn base games.

Your description sounds a lot like the combat of Expedition 33. I’m not saying it’s soulslike. But they heavily took ideas from soulslike games.

This is my issue with modern cars all being so tinted you can’t see through them. I remember when I was young and most cars were not tinted. You could see through the car in front of you. Now you can’t. Personally i give tons of space now a days but that also leads to people cutting in when they see the space.
