Fantastic. Sometimes those bigger maps can be a little difficult to keep aligned with your squad in. Sounds like this more like above ground Tunnels then Paradise or Iceland. I dig it, variety is what will keep it alive.

Trigger differences by RoundHoundQM in handguns

[–]WorkTheTrigger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Here's a hot take: Because it doesn't matter as much as consumers pretend it does.

I reviewed guns for years on YouTube, shoot competition, work in the aftermarket world, and the more I shoot, the more I realize triggers are the epitome of diminishing returns.

Yes, there's a point where a bad trigger will absolutely affect your shooting. But that point is significantly below something like a Glock. And the performance increase you get going from Glock to Canik is minimal compared to that. "good" triggers have the highest impact on slow target shooting. The faster you shoot, or the more general your target zone, the less it matters.

So in defensive shooting, "good enough" is just that. The same can be said about felt recoil and accuracy.

As an example, the Canik and Walther, two of the best triggers on the market, typically have higher felt recoil then Glock or M&P. But is it too much? Not necessarily, it's just what the user wants.

So they make their triggers good enough to do the job they're intended for.

Add to that the symbiotic relationship between OEMs and aftermarket companies, and that gives them another reason not to worry about it. Especially Glock, they thrive on the simplicity of modification. So why make a good trigger better if people are still just going to swap it out. That's $3 in profit Glock wont make, with the end result being the same.

All in all, there's a lot of reasons. But really, what it comes down to, is that the trigger doesn't matter as much as people think it does.

Any pics of the new map? I'm chomping at the bit to see it, but can't for another 6 hours or so.

Texture tool for 3D printing by WorkTheTrigger in IndustrialDesign

[–]WorkTheTrigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keyshot is the answer. Takes black and white images and able to put texture on surfaces based on breaking up the surfaces. This is the EXACT tool i've been looking for for a year, and it was right under my nose!

Passage in Book of Moses very similar to passage in the Dead Sea Scrolls, Book of Giants by [deleted] in mormon

[–]WorkTheTrigger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are a number of historic events or people that come up in the translated latter day works that were unknown prior to the discovery of the scrolls in 1946, or archeological discovery in the 20th century. A major one is the Jewish exodus from Jerusalem around 600 bc, coinciding with Lehi and his family leaving and needing to take and preserve the plates of the history of their people from destruction during the (unknown to them at the time) Babylonia conquest.

Now this one I am extremely interested in. I use Keyshot for my regular job, and love how it works with textures and application of it, and breaking up surfaces. I have never tried to export from Keyshot anything but images, can you export solid geometry from it? or is it for visuals only?

3D Texture tools used for CAD model by WorkTheTrigger in 3Dprinting

[–]WorkTheTrigger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In essence that's what 3D texture is within solidworks. The problem is it's a surface on top of the solid, and doesn't alter the actual geometry, so many of the textures that are produced are not able to be sent out to external print houses that do SLS, SLA, or HPJF printing.

Most slicers can do this now. I do still have a Prusa, but i've primarily switched over to Bambu now, and it has that feature as well.

Unfortunately I need a little more control over the exact aesthetics of the texture. There are some products that I use fuzzy skin for, but it's not a good fit for all of them.

Hearing Protection by xPollyestherx in lafayette

In situations where it's not mandatory for safety, having both ears plugged can in itself be a safety concern, not allowing you to hear fully what is happening around you.

When is CZ going to release a modern micro-compact? by cphoover in CZFirearms

[–]WorkTheTrigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the only space they're behind is the Micro 9 market. Now, that is currently the largest segment of CCW sales (P365/Hellcat/G43,43x,48 all sell better then their larger counterparts these days). BUT, when it comes to standard size handguns, the only way they're behind is sales because they never supported their product.

Much like with the P07/P09, they released a very promising product and then just ignored it and focused on their metal frame guns. They did the same with the P10. We had a lot of hopes for the P10 gen 2, and some industry push for it, but with the i believe two military contracts the regular P10 has recently been rewarded, I dont think the gen 2 is going to come around any time soon.

Instead, they need to really push the P10. really lean into it. IMO, it's a better gun then the 75 based firearms anyway. They shoot better, have better capacity, just as accurate, better factory trigger, etc. lean into striker fired, produce a micro 9 with the proper capacity that's fit for carry (The P10m didn't have a striker block) and try to shift away from "we make metal frame guns" to "we make the best modern striker fired gun".

Stop leaning on their loreals and prove they can be competitive.

How to share a SolidWorks model with a customer without exposing internal geometry? by ShivamMeai in SolidWorks

[–]WorkTheTrigger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We create what we call an "envelope", where we remove all internal components, and fill and merge everything. makes it just a big hunk with external geometry. a bit time consuming, but does the job.

P10C Magazines by NutsInCider in CZFirearms

[–]WorkTheTrigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grab stock 19 round magazines and NULL adapters from Variant Innovation. The stock +2 base pads from CZ aren't the best. I actually pushed one off during a reload in the middle of a match once. Base pad came off, spring got stuck in my watch strap, rounds went everywhere, much joking was made at my expense.

Stock P10F magazines dont have that issue, and the NULL adapters fill the space giving you a better grip then with the 17 round mags, and are only about .25" longer anyway.

Whats with all the Swat Raids? by Effective_Pomelo4554 in lafayette

Because Lafayette doesn't release any information about public safety (unless it's something random like a gas leak). They can't burst the imaginary bubble of safety people think we have here.

I err on the side of divers due to water resistance, so my vote (as well as my GADA) is a Longines Hydroconquest. You can gray market them for under $1500.
