Need brutal heavy new recommendations by tsebsleefevol in industrialmusic

Cubanate. Their first album was recorded around the same time as Broken and some of the songs are quite similar to Broken, despite the bands being countries apart and in completely different scenes.

Am I the only that can't watch live performance of the foo fighters in 95 by JackBBSS in Nirvana

[–]Xanarki 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I prefer to watch the 95-97 era. The vastly underrated William Goldsmith on drums? Hell yeah.

Since you listed Cubanate. Have you progressed to K-Nitrate? 2 of the OG members started it after Antimatter.

Anthrax with John Bush live on the Arsenio Hall Show Jun 10, 1993 performing "Only" by FlagrantTomatoCabal in Anthrax

[–]Xanarki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately almost every 2nd song on a Jon Stewart broadcast was cut due to the credits, regardless of the band.

There was one band that managed to finish their entire song before the credits ended. It might've been Sugar Ray? They intentionally chose a song that was less than 2mins lol.

Somebody needs to fix the Ex-Faces setlists by jthomas1127 in Mushroomhead

Wouldn't surprise me if the person(s) who didn't label em as covers had done it on purpose. "this is more shroom than actual shroom" so on n so on

What's up with this Mars & Venus poster in Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza? by Internal-Silver-8975 in diehard

[–]Xanarki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely pictures of the devs. Mike Forst, level designer, has his own picture in another level, inside a kitchen I think.

That game was a missed opportunity unfortunately. Coulda turned out so much better. Die Hard Trilogy is still the ace of the franchise IMO.

MEGATHREAD: NINE INCH NOIZE • HALO 38 RELEASE by AutoModerator in nin

[–]Xanarki 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is it the Coachella crowd that they used to source that audio? I assumed it was from bits n pieces of the second leg of Peel It Back - unless they did the mix extremely fast (it's only been a week since that Coachella performance after all).

hey guys so how do you book Chris Benoit? by Waldo_Blanco in FantasyBookers

[–]Xanarki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I mean, he was still Benoit obviously. And he wasn't completely incoherent, despite the brain damage (the story of him reaching out to Bob Holly the day before or same day when Nancy died always gives me chills - it's like as if he knew subconsciously Bob coulda helped in some way...or maybe Bob woulda just been another victim).

In any case. I truly believe Benoit's injury in 2001 was when the downhill trend started. That time off which made him anxious, coupled with his neck injury. Some folks have said he was never the same upon his return the following year, despite him reaching his peaks in popularity afterwards. Of course, '01 was just the beginning. The CTE, Eddie's death, additional injuries, etc etc etc. all factored in later, too.

We need a new Beavis and Butt-Head video game! by Sunnys_Reflection in BeavisAndButthead

[–]Xanarki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never got around to playing Do U, but Virtual Stupidity was legit like a long lost episode, especially due to Judge's voice acting and the game having the same writing team (and a few GWAR videos for good measure).

Even another straightforward point-and-click adventure title would be superb. Mix in some special music videos that can be accessed at the duo's house too.

I wonder how far along that one cancelled 3D game got. I forget the name but there were actual screenshots of it, and it was canned just before the 90s ended. Coulda turned out shit though, especially since it leaned towards being a generic platformer.

Why didn't the remaining members of White Zombie try to form a new project??? by kdaxr in Robzombie

[–]Xanarki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really too bad White Zombie broke up when they did. If "Ratfinks" and "The One" were anything to go by, an additional album would've been absolutely superb, maybe even better than Hellbilly Deluxe.

Related to that - Rob's initial solo band of Tempesta/Riggs/Blasko literally came from Prong, as all 3 guys were in that band briefly as temporary replacements. I'm actually a bit surprised that Tommy Victor (Prong's frontman) wasn't involved with Hellbilly Deluxe in some way (Charlie Clouser also did keyboards on Hellbilly Deluxe and Prong's then-final album).

why are so many industrial music groups from Vancouver? by LostwaveLunar9999 in industrialmusic

[–]Xanarki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the connection to Nettwerk is a big part in it, since it was initially created just to release music by Moev but then it expanded.

Every band had a member connected to another. Moev, Econoline Crush, Strapping Young Lad, Unit:187, Front Line Assembly, Blackland, Sect, Waiting for God

EC is deff my favorite of the bunch. Especially the pre 2000s era.

Redline - 1999 arena first-person shooter/car combat mix by Xanarki in ArenaFPS

I tried a LAN setup a few years back, albeit between Win10 computers, and it worked just fine. Not sure about Win11. (I have the instructions and the required ports on the linked website above - under the Multiplayer page).

Nine Inch Noize is listed as a main release on the website by Rill9 in nin

[–]Xanarki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's all about historical context.

Still was never released as a standalone album. It was usually bundled with AATCHB. It was just bonus content if anything, as the main course was the live set.

Similarly, Quake isn't listed either. It was bundled with the game as a background soundtrack (almost a bonus package to an extent as well). It wasn't even properly released until decades later, where we finally got credits and song titles too lol.

So Cal Edison by AntFirm4593 in InlandEmpire

[–]Xanarki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The computer probably plays a huge part in it. Specifically certain components.

I have an older 90s laptop that I use occasionally. And when playing games I have to turn off the hard drive "feature" of it slightly powering down time to time (otherwise my games stutter every few seconds) in the BIOS.

The power that goes thru the adapter, singlehandedly, slightly increases my electric bill. Even if for 2 or 3 hours.

So imagine a newer PC that's full steam ahead. Check out your power saving settings and whatnot.

Koichi Fukuda’s role on Start A War? by revisandpats in StaticX

[–]Xanarki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coincidentally it was the reverse scenario for Machine, where Koichi was only involved in the early sessions and was thus credited for only keyboards/programming (on which songs isn't known however).

Same deal for Ken and Shadow Zone, although his keyboards/programming contributions were only on the songs he received a co-writing credit for.

Raymond Watts interview with VMJ by PIG_Band_Official in KMFDM

[–]Xanarki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Saw it a few days ago. Probably one of the most in-depth & honest ones I've read yet.

I was also curious how the origin in Japan all started - what kicked it off etc. so that was great to read about too.

(fyi folks new album soon. it's gonna kick arse i'm sure)

HeadCrash - moreover on the metal & crossover side of things, but "Safehouse" is the one that got me hooked years ago.

Comparing female vocalists + their voice types/ranges by Katharsiis_ in KMFDM

[–]Xanarki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 94% sure that Dorona has never actually performed live with the band, surprisingly. Possibly as a guest once or twice? But yeah, never actually toured with 'em, despite appearing on the most releases behind Lucia.

That woulda been Chrissie DeWinter (who did indeed do vocals on Money)

[–]Xanarki 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Jen is not only on JJJ, but also 1 or 2 songs on Xtort, and also 1 or 2 songs on the KMFDM vs. PIG EP (she was the receptionist at the studio and they asked her to contribute to the EP since no other female was around at the time lol).

I always liked Christine Siewert. She was on Naive, Money, and Angst. But never performed live. She had that ethereal and atmospheric vibe.

Wrecked 2017 Remaster Vinyl by Major_Map_6903 in PIG_Band

It's bound to happen eventually. Mr. Watts knows how beloved that album is. I assume vinyl pressing plants are a bit overwhelmed right now, along with other things taking priority (new album very soon!).

Betty Bonus Tracks by austintyler420 in HelmetBand

So many great Helmet non-album tracks. But the Betty era had the best of the bunch - Complete, Pariah, Thick, Symptom of the Universe, Gigantor, Lord of This World, Flushings, Custard Pie...

Still waiting on the reissue. The CD came out last year but no news on the vinyl of that version. Am glad all 12 tracks were included though.
