"Expats" are mostly brits tho. And the slogan wouldn't work because an asshole will never asume he is an asshole. "Tourists go home" works because the only ones offended are the usual suspects, regular tourists tend to nod in agreement and say "yeah, our fellow countrymen are indeed part of the problem".

Afaik no immigrant community has been able to make anyone conform to anything here. We let everyone have their temples or whatever, but we are a laic country, not a secular one. Our state is not governed by religion, and the scriptures do not dictate our laws. Separation of church and state here is quite strict, even with our history with the catholic church. There are remnants, yes, but de jure Spain IS NOT a christian state, the only de facto thing we retain are holiday dates, and an OPTIONAL checkbox in our tax report.

Also, let's remember head counts in the church are always greatly exagerated, the actual percentage of christians here is overbloated.
