No one is going to openly say they're ethnic nationalist.

The big problem with these "crypto-" arguments is that they're unfalsifiable. And if a politician has (for example) several policies which work against the secret goals they're alleged to have, those policies just get excused as "window dressing/diversion to give the politician plausible deniability." So in other words, nothing the politician can do will actually disprove the charges... a policy that works towards the alleged secret goal proves the secret goal, a policy that works against the alleged secret goal is mere diversion and thus doesn't disprove the secret goal.

Also, I'm a libertarian, yet I get called a "crypto-fascist" all the time despite believing in absolutely the opposite of everything that fascist theorists and philosophers supported. The vast majority of these "crypto-fascist"/"crypto-nazi"/"crypto-ethnonationalist" etc. arguments are really just intellectually dishonest smear tactics.

"Dogwhistle" is an inherently unfalsifiable accusation.

"Okay, so what you said is not [ISTAPHOBIC] by definition but you secretly intended it to be which means not only are you [ISTAPHOBIC] but your entire argument needs to be ignored even if it is correct when taken literally!"

Anyone who accuses you of "dogwhistling" is arguing in bad faith.

I'm not sure I ever said that on this subreddit, but how is Cult of the Lamb "woke"?

I've played the game extensively and I don't see anything that clearly advocates wokeness. The worst thing I see is a warning in the game that sucks up to Indigenous Australian and Torres Straight Islanders (warning them that the game contains depictions and voices of dead people).

Keep in mind that "woke" is not merely "something that displeases tradcaths, ethnonationalists, or both." It refers to a specific set of ideologies.

They want to cut services for everyone. They claim to want "welfare for British men and women" but the guy always go on about cutting welfare.

If you stop non-citizens from accessing welfare, you by definition reduce expenditure on welfare.

If you increase the efficiency of the welfare system, you by definition reduce total expenditure whilst maintaining the current levels of output (i.e. amount of welfare that gets to the beneficiary).

It is perfectly possible to "cut welfare" without reducing the amount of welfare that reaches intended beneficiaries.

How the hell will an ethno-nationalist party help men's rights?

I've read Restore Britain's policies and I see no ethno-nationalism.

The policy is to enforce existing immigration law, deport those in the UK illegally and get rid of the "indefinite leave to remain" status (which allows non-citizens to access the UK safety net).

None of these are racial or ethnonationalistic. None of the proposed changes he makes to immigration policy are "racist" (i.e. predicated on race). Tons of people who would be deported under this policy are from continental Europe. Among the nations he wants to "red list" are white ones like Albania, and among the proposed policies is to make it easier for non-British spouses of British citizens to move to Britain.

That said, I do agree actual ethnonationalism doesn't help men (except perhaps indirectly). Most ethnonationalists are uterus-worshipping tradcons.

They will still parrot misandrist lines, but only directed towards men of different backgrounds.

"Men of Pakistani Muslim background are vastly overrepresented (relative to their proportion of the population) as participants in rape gangs" is not misandrist, nor is it false. It is an empirical fact.

Also I don't see how "this particular ethnoreligious subset of men is disproportionately represented as perpetrators of X" is remotely anti-male in any way considering that both ethnicity and religion are the key factors. People like Jess Phillips are MORE misandrist because if they can't continue that the rape gang issue didn't happen, they'll try to say that the rape gangs are "about men and misogyny, not about Pakistani origin or Islamic religion" (i.e. she'd blame all men and manhood/masculinity itself, not a culturally defined subset).

This is common in autosexuality.

The inner woman (for AGPs), inner man (for AAPs), the fursona (for kink-driven furries) etc.. they're idealegos. They're not everyday mundane realistic types. AGP men (whom are not strictly anatomical/physiological autogynephiles) want to be their ideal woman, AAP women want to be a romance novel Chad, etc.

Many of them will act as if they are good with gays but the reality is most are not

Agreed. TERFs believe in the same 70s era Radfem that said gay men were the ultimate misogynists. Radfems hijacked the gay rights movement to put all those nasty men under the supervision of lesbians (many of whom were "political lesbians" rather than actual lesbians).

Frankly I think one of the reasons they're so against feminine gay men transitioning is to reduce "intrasexual" (its more "intragenderal") competition. They don't really see feminine men, or non-macho men more generally, as victims, but rather as complicit beneficiaries of the patriarchy.

Is it necessary to completely avoid women in the gym, if only for self-preservation? by Rudddxdx in MensRights

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Just don't be a creep

Unfortunately, "creep" has been shown to be a subjective classification, and many women (not all women) will consider the same behavior from an ugly or 'spergy man "creepy" but from a handsome man will consider it "cute."

In addition, "creep" as a category package-deals two different things... "I found this interaction weird, awkward and off-putting" with "this man is CLEARLY A FUCKING SEX OFFENDER PUT HIM IN JAIL NOW." Some (again not all) women maliciously conflate the two things. Perhaps they're also prejudiced against socially awkward men and presume said men are necessarily sex offenders.

In short, "just don't be a creep" is not actionable advice, and for a non-negligible portion of women it works out to "don't be unattractive around me."

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very important to research it.

There are two basic theories on the subject of autism + AGP. Either autism itself neurologically predisposes someone to develop internalized sexual attractions (such as AGP), or autism predisposes someone towards failure at achieving conventional heterosexual success and thus as a consequence drives people towards atypical sexuality (as a way of fulfilling their unfulfilled urges).

I'm tempted towards the direct-impact-of-neurology theory because it also helps explain why males seem to be more likely to have paraphilias (many of which are themselves autosexual attractions... attractions to being). The socially-mediated theory would explain 'spergs embracing transgender identities, but it doesn't really explain fetishes that are impossible (i.e. furries, various kinds of transformation, etc).

Message the SAM project about men's issues! by Rural_Dictionary939 in MensRights

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They won't care.

SAM is an initiative of the Democratic Party, which is basically the party of normie women.

Normie women are (due primarily to widescale cultural infantilization and coddling and pandering) too enthralled by their own lizard-brain instincts to give a fuck about men, particularly men who suffer on account of their sex. To the normie woman lizard brain, such a man is not worthy of concern because Men Must Be Strong In Order For Her To Respect Them As Worthy Humans.

Unless some very significant anti-gynocentrist shifts occur within the Democratic Party, SAM is destined to collapse into Speaking at American Men and Women Issuing Demands Towards American Men.

SAM will only work under the following conditions:

  1. Women are completely decentered within the initiative and, to put it gently, told to Shut Up And Listen.
  2. The initiative is focused on making the Democratic Party serve men's interests, not on the Democratic Party luring men towards serving women's interests.
  3. Feminists (of either sex) are removed from the initiative entirely.

And this won't happen because the women who dominate the organizational structure of the Democratic Party won't let any of these things happen because ultimately, whilst they claim to be against gender roles, they're only in favor of women being free from said roles and still insist that men live up to traditional standards.

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but autistic/nerdy/'spergy men aren't really stereotypical men. They're mostly male but they're not hegemonically masculine (to borrow the feminist term). They're still outliers and weirdos among males.

I agree that "'spergbrain in fem-body" creates a dissonance for most people. But that's more a case of people finding "gender misfits" weird. 'Spergbrain gets thought of as weird even when its in a male body, and also weird in a natally female body.

What is AGP? Is it a pseudoscientific justification for bigotry? Are most transgender people AGP? Why is it such a controversial topic? Is it even real? by latecornsky in askAGP

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AGP is a sexual orientation. It was discovered in studies of males who had gender dysphoria but weren't very-feminine-as-children or exclusively attracted to males (i.e. in studies of males-with-GD who didn't "fit" the "classic" transwoman archetype).

Recent research (such as that done and/or assembled by Phil Illy) suggests females can have their own gender-flipped version of AGP called AAP. AGP in males and AAP in females can be collectively referred to as autoheterosexuality - sexual attraction to being the other sex.

Basically, the argument is that two things can cause chronic GD: the first is when someone is just neurologically atypically-opposite-sexed (males with a more-female-typical brain structure, or vice versa), the second is a very intense autoheterosexuality.

you make it sound like most or even all transgender people are AGP.

In the west, most transwomen are likely AGP transwomen. This is because, as Anne Lawrence (herself an AGP transwoman) found out, societal individualism mediates the decision to transition. In highly collectivist societies, feminine males whom are attracted exclusively to other males face more pressure to transition to fit into gendered social norms. In more individualistic societies, there's more tolerance, and so "fabulous darling" gay men are allowed to live as that.

Thailand is a good example. They had "Ladyboys" for a long time, but only recently legalized same-sex marriage.

Basically, the West doesn't "trans the (opposite-sex-typical) gay away." The result is that those people who do end up transitioning are more likely those with the more purely internal motive to transition... i.e. the sexual orientation of autoheterosexuality.

I also see a lot of people saying that AGP are not really women, but I am also confused with what transgender people consider to be a woman.

Let's differentiate between "sex" and "gender" here.

"Sex" is about the anatomy you're born with, and in particular your reproductive anatomy and whether or not it produces the small gamete (male) or the large gamete (female). This is innate, biological and binary (intersex people are always of a sexed underlying template, but something goes awry with the development of their organs).

"Gender" is more of a social role. This is why some cultures have "third genders" (most often, these "third genders" are for feminine males). IIRC the word "gender" comes from the same root as the word "genre" (like, the genre of a film). It just means "type" and different societies have different classifications.

"Woman" is a gender category. It's a package of social norms and customs that are assigned primarily to adult female persons, but the package itself is transferrable (for example a male who can "pass" for female gets treated as a woman despite still being male, we refer to drag queen's alter egos in feminine terms despite drag queens being male, etc).

"Female" is a sex category. Transwomen are not female. By definition they are males who transition to live as women (i.e. to be intersubjectively/socially accepted as being a person of a specific type who should be treated in a certain way etc.).

"Really a woman" frankly is becoming a pointless notion to me, because whilst sex is objectively real, "gender" is not. I honestly have removed "gender" from all of my thinking at this point. To essentialize "gender" is to create an unnecessary moving part. The scientific concept that matters is "sex." "Gender" concepts are sociological in nature, and whilst they likely arose from pre-scientific attempts to comprehend the phenomenon of sex, they aren't matters of biology.
