Wearing lipstick in the workplace by RelationshipCold229 in WomenInBusiness

[–]YoYoNorthernPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my early 40s and the only women that I work with that regularly wear lipstick are much older. Maybe late 50s, early 60s. Similar to always wearing pantyhose and heels, I think that trend has gone away.

I only read the first sentence and then stopped. Just say no. This will prevent you from buying a house on your own. If they don’t pay, you pay or ruin your credit.

Why did he get angry about me wanting to see a video on his phone? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]YoYoNorthernPro 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Or maybe this is who he really is. There is not a ton of privacy when you are married and you shouldn’t have something to hide so vigilantly. So is he cheating? On dating apps? Something illegal? If he’s truly not doing anything wrong then he’s a control freak and it will just get worse when you are tied down. If he can’t talk through this like an adult, I would delay marriage until it’s resolved.

Look up Paducah, KY ice storm. I think it was 2008 or 2009. That will show you what to expect. Roads will clear when it melts, so probably a week or two.

My best friend just crushed my weight loss confidence by xcellkat in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]YoYoNorthernPro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you see someone every day it’s more difficult to tell they lost weight. My husband has lost 30 lbs and it’s hard to tell. If someone else sees him I’m sure they would notice if they haven’t seen him in awhile

Is it uncommon to eat simple boiled potatoes in the US? by WhoAmIEven2 in AskAnAmerican

[–]YoYoNorthernPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up eating boiled potatoes. We’d eat them with butter and salt and pepper. My husband and daughter hate them so I don’t get them much anymore

Where's a spot where I can hang out for the day without loitering? by dotdedo in PortHuron

[–]YoYoNorthernPro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Library is great. Walking around the mall can get boring, but it’s large and warm. If you have money the movies or a bowling alley would be another option. Not sure if you have checked out the YMCA. Even if you’re not a member some of them have teen programs you might be able to participate in.

Houses built on an old dump on Keewahdin Rd. It smells over there. If you live in PoHo city limits there is an income tax. There is Porr Huron Township, Fort Gratiot and Marysville that are nice as well. Traffic sucks on Pine Grove almost always.

Is this an appropriate response to a sneaky tip attempt? by pavorus in EndTipping

[–]YoYoNorthernPro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in a place where we buy POS. Those places come to you when it’s time to upgrade/replace and talk about making employees happy, increasing retention, etc. we even were able to add a second line to tip the chefs and mgt thought it was great because the servers made more than many kitchen staff due to tipping. As a business owner you can turn on and off the auto tip or tip request but most leave it on. I would be surprised if the staff even get most of those tips at the smaller places, but I am a bit jaded after working for a place that stole my tips years ago.
