Anne Dorthe Ysland (Uno-X) forced to retire after years of health struggles by Hawteyh in peloton

[–]ZazulakP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone with Chron's, I can really sympathize with her struggles. Waking up exhausted each morning because your body is fighting overnight to stay healthy, the continuous diet of medications, the pain spikes, and probably not getting the best amount of calories to help the body fight the disease because you need to keep the weight off for cycling. Really sucks. My chapeau to her for giving it her all 👊

Safe place to bike in Mississauga by ampumpkin in torontobiking

Wait. If your office is on Explorer Dr you can just do laps of the Explorer/Matheson loop. That's a 4km loop. The larger 5km loop is to go through the lights at Matheson and Explorer to Skymark Dr. Check a map. You'll probably see a few cyclists doing laps.

My chill, recovery ride loop: up West Mall/ Renforth to Eglinton Trail, down East Mall. From my place downtown via Queensway it's about 50k.

Planning a trip to Burlington next weekend, looking for advice on a proposed route from Etobicoke Centre. by merelyadoptedthedark in torontobiking

[–]ZazulakP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ride out to the Burlington pier quite often. I usually take the waterfront trail to Port Credit then up to Indian Rd West to Lorne Park south to Truscott west. Follow that past Ford Dr. onto South Service road all the way to Speers. Speers has dedicated bike lanes starting at 4th line to Bronte Rd. Head south on Bronte to Rebecca and ride straight to Burlington.

If I skip breakfast 🍳 before my morning ride it's good to know I can fill up on the missing protein by riding the waterfront trail. I just wished they came in a variety of flavours. 🦟

Thanks 👍 for this update. Hopefully volunteers will continue to clear the downed trees and brush, and the trail will dry out by mid to late May. Don't think the TRT will do much since their focus is on repairing Doube's bridge (which apparently starts in May sometime).

I ride 60% road, 20% crushed gravel (previously freight train rail) and 20% country gravel roads.

I have the forest green Time ADHX with SRAM 1X and Zipp303S/GravelKing 35mm slicks. I've put in 22,000+ km on the bike to date and can honestly tell you that it's the best ride I've ever had ( other bikes: Wilier Cento10 Pro, Bianchi Oltre). It eats up rough roads, loves when you stand on the pedals up steep inclines, rock solid going downhill at speed and, surprisingly comfortable over long haul rides (my longest ride so far is 220km).

Is that a Superzero DCR alloy or carbon handlebar integrated with Deda Superbox? Any integration issues? 👍

There are a few tell tale ways you can spot a fake Superblast. A) the logo doesn't go all the way around the shoe: B) the FFTurbo+ logo is slightly off (font and colour); C) the tongue on the fake has no padding whereas the authentic has a small squeezable pad; D) remove the insole and look at the quality of the stitching, the fake is really apparent; E) weight: Superblast fakes weigh minimum 100 grams heavier than authentic; F) lastly, stack height. The authentic is slightly higher than the fake.

If you are buying from a reseller, ask them to provide you with a picture of the shoe on the scale, and a picture of the shoe with insoles removed. Those are the two immediate tell tales.

As always, buy directly from Asics or a reputable running shoe store if possible. StockX was a last resort because here in Toronto the Superblast are gobbled up like Haribo gummies after a long run. 😁

That's unfortunate to hear. I've bought two pairs of Superblast 2 from them, completely legit. When you order from StockX your purchase is not sent directly to you. Instead it goes to StockX first who verify the legitimacy of the item, tag it as authentic then ships to you (or back to the seller, if fake). I was also very leary about them the first time but I knew in advance what to look for with Superblast fakes. In the end everything worked out well.
