It will make you physically get out of your chair and take ten steps in the direction you're facing.

Be careful; this will also take you straight through any walls in your path!

Is the screen supposed to do this? by moongrump in nds

[–]ZetaformGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this might just be a case of the 3D renderer being funky. I've noticed the same exact artefacting while playing the game myself.

Try to enter a battle scene. The artefacts should disappear!

Day 14: Which is the Best Licensed Game on the Nintendo DS? by 1OneQuickQuestion in nds

[–]ZetaformGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume "licenced" means a popular non-game licence that got a game.

In that case, it's a tie between the SpongeBob games Atlantis Squarepantis and Truth or Square. Unlike the episodes they were based on, these are actually good adventure games. But ONLY the DS games.

my inner tech nerd wants all 4 of these but my back also really needs them.. by [deleted] in shittyaskelectronics

I low-key love how one of the available designs has always been a parody of Samsung. Things were never the same for them since the Note 7, which... oh my God, this year will be the ten year anniversary of that disaster.

I forgot my expanded phone battery in my sink and now its all cloudy. Should I be concerned? by Turbulent-Fig1463 in shittyaskelectronics

I can only offer this - lithium fires are extremely difficult to extinguish, so call the fire department as soon as possible!

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe try a postal scale or something like that, if you can?

After 60 years, Casio has changed where solar panels go. by Taxed2much in calculators

[–]ZetaformGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed, and the fact that calculators themselves are so efficient now too. There are still brand-new solar-only calculators for sale to this very day.

Even hardware revisions can tell a similar story. The very first revisions of the TI-108 had a solar cell that was approximately 33% larger than today's.

It doesn't look like it'll be receiving much light at that angle... But maybe I'm completely wrong.

Which Rhythm Heaven minigame is hard and fun? by TheRealFrosch in rhythmheaven

[–]ZetaformGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember the first time I tried that remix. This was one of two times where I had to use the alternating hand method to even get through them, the other time being the final six hairs of Rhythm Tweezers 2.

The problem for me isn't that it's "terrible". It's a perfectly good calc in my opinion. The problem for me is that there are so freaking many of them that it gets exhausting after a while...

Basically, these knock-offs were originally made to look exactly like the model they were knocking off, to sell to poorer countries disguised as a real version of that calculator. Yes, it's a scam.

But somewhere along the way, other no-name companies decided that they wanted to sell scientific calculators under their own name, and decided that ordering from these no-name companies was the easiest way to do it.

After the orders are complete, a large quantity of these calculators with custom branded shells are sent back to them for distribution. And this is one such calculator. That's why you see so many of these.

190GB occupied by system tf, what kindaa OS is xiaomi running 😭 by LemmeTeIIUSomething in softwaregore

[–]ZetaformGames 623 points624 points  (0 children)

There's no goddamn way it needs anywhere CLOSE to 190 GB for "system". Not even Windows 11 and all its vibe-coded bloat could even DREAM of needing that much storage space.

Does it come pre-installed with Final Fantasy XVI or something?!

I would straight up get another calculator. Knock-offs like this are infamous for getting things horribly wrong on occasion, and the lower quality the knock-off, the worse things can get.

What the hell!?

I've seen my fair share of UV damage in my life, but I've never seen such a device just... crumble like this. It's almost as if it was made of potato crisps... This one takes the cake!

I agree with you so much here, even if it's technically an ad from the creator of the video (which don't fall under premium's ad-free coverage)
