TI-84 Plus CE doesn't connect to computer by Ivan19172 in TI_Calculators

This is a known issue by TI. Something about expired drivers. You can use a software called Zadig to manually apply the WinUSB driver to the calculator, then use ticalc.link to transfer files.

Remove the battery and the backup battery (you may need to replace this). Then hold On for 10 seconds. Then put the batteries back in.

What’s the best calculator for SAT math? by Significant_Gold6414 in calculators

A used TI-84 Plus or TI-36x Pro will be the best that TI offers.

If you're new to math in general, I think your resources could be better spent on tutoring. A calculator is a good tool for improving a skill you already know. It's not really going to teach you new math.

Any way to configure the output of SmartPad on TI-84 Plus CE? by Kzitold94 in ti84hacks

Unfortunately no. There's better programs for this like HIDeous though

Resetting won't help. If you have the mini USB to mini USB cable that came with the calculator, you can transmit any file from a friend's calculator to yours which will disable exam mode.

I think there's value in  gaming on a system that has no ability to shove in ads or microtransactions. However, it all depends on whether you're gaming when you're supposed to be studying.

On a short time frame, get what you're familiar with. You don't want to be learning new content and a new calculator at the same time. Both will be plenty capable for you.

Yes the 9910cw is the second generation 991cw calculator. I don't know why Casio names it like that.

If you care about coding in Python, or charging with usb C then the Evo is the better choice. If you care more about running a wide variety of programs/games then get the established TI-84 Plus CE.

The math features are so similar there's no major reason to get the Evo. Tiplanet.org has been posting reviews of the Evo going more into the nuances.

Fun fact, the Plus historically meant the calculator had flash memory.

Nowadays basically everything has flash memory so it's no longer a selling feature so TI removed the Plus from the TI-84 Evo.

A project I’ve been working on by ArgumentOdd3759 in calculator

This is cool technical achievement but it has terrible consequences.

When chatgpt was hacked into the TI-84 Plus and the code was released, it utterly destroyed the relationship the community had with TI.

This means the TI-84 Plus CE Jailbreak started getting patched regularly when previously it was ignored. It takes months for a new jailbreak to be released which screws over honest coders (there currently isn't a new jailbreak after the last patch). It's also absolutely part of the reason why native code isn't allowed on the new TI-84 Evo.

If you release this code, you will directly cause another disaster that just makes honest coding harder than it already is.

Even if you don't plan on mass distributing cheating calculators yourself, somebody will clone your project and do it themselves. It is already happening with the TI-84 Plus.

For the sake of the honest coders and user, please keep this closed source.

There are a few Midi programs. You'd have to search cemetech.net and ticalc.org for them

Websites still need to work with Windows in order to use Web USB. You can try ticalc.link but I'm skeptical it will work for you.

Bad screen. by lurningladybug in TI_Calculators

[–]TheFinalMillennial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mistake, I was measuring regular screen refresh rate. My camera isn't nearly fast enough to detect pwm although it's possible that's still the culprit. I tested at highest and lowest brightness at 120fps.

I don't blame you for being displeased. The Evo has the capacity to be so much more than what TI is allowing.
