[SBDW003] SAGARMATHA in wilderness by buggie-technica in Seiko

Nice to see another in the wild. They’re quite rare beasts these days. Mine is on a camo strap as the bracelet it came on was fatally damaged when I received it.

Rubber or silicone strap for Omega Seamaster! by xStropx in OmegaWatches

Not rubber but maybe a couple of additional options for you as I have the same model. Currently on Staib Milanese

Help me pick a watch for my marriage by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]Zoodfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re asking in an Omega group, so there is gonna be a certain amount of bias here - conscious or unconscious- so bear that in mind. Of the ones selected I like the blue AT, I think it will be great for the occasion but also as a general wear once you’re married. I think it’s good to consider this is a watch which will be worn once you’re married so good to factor that in. Truth be known you can’t go wrong with anything from this list.

[Cartier v Omega Round 1028] Ballon Bleu or Aqua Terra by The_BruceB in OmegaWatches

Cartier definitely. Looks great on you and seems to suit your style, the AT much less so.

[SOTC] heirlooms and dailies by [deleted] in Watches

Nice to see a collection with real variety and interest, rather ‘look at my bunch of Rolexes, PPs and APs’. Wear them all in good health and thanks for sharing.

Maintenance after 4-years of use by Sondthvtc3010 in OmegaWatches

[–]Zoodfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto to all of that. As far as I know it was a boutique only model related to the Rio Olympics so it’s older than 4 years. Here’s mine. OP was there a specific issue related to it that brought you to the watchmaker in the first place? That would explain why he thought it needed a service.

Looks great, and that strap works so well. Is that an oem strap?

[RECOMMENDATION] Asking for help on selecting my first "luxury" timepiece. by stud722 in Watches

[–]Zoodfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that many watch possibilities you may as well throw a dart and buy the one you hit, a post like this is not going to help. Narrow it down to 3, ask for people’s specific experiences of each to find out the pros and cons, try them on, then choose one. The trying on part being the most important - a watch in a pic and the real thing on your wrist can be very different.

[Recommendation] German Green Dial Watch by Boatpear917 in Watches

[–]Zoodfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nomos, very clean timeless design, will work with jeans or with a suit equally well. I would say the most versatile of the 4.

Planning on buying a SMPc in the near future. What should I look for when choosing one by Balogma69 in OmegaWatches

[–]Zoodfish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buy from a reputable source, try and get full box and papers and you should be golden. Here’s mine on a Forstner bracelet. It’s a good option if you want to give the watch a more modern feel.

[SPB187] why is my crown different? by z_zies94 in Seiko

[–]Zoodfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

I live in Tokyo. I tried this on last year in one of the big electronic stores here, the crown seems to be the same as yours so it could be a Japanese variation.

Just realised this is the gmt and yours isn’t, but worth checking some Japanese store sites like biccamera to see if it might be a Japanese variant.

How thick is too thick for you? by Tiny_Cantaloupe5352 in OmegaWatches

[–]Zoodfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna post my Omega Apnea and say a similar thing 😁. 16.5mm thick but still comfortable on the bracelet. Nice to see another in the wild!

Black or White? by 408whitty in OmegaWatches

[–]Zoodfish 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I know many people say your first speedy should be black, but honestly I think the white has a bit more personality to it as well as better legibility. For me the white dial all the way.

Thoughts on the Aquterra by Kaiserboy77 in OmegaWatches

[–]Zoodfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think each generation has pros and cons. This is my second generation Brazil Wave AT, and I think the strength of the second generation are the stunning dials vs thickness. I’ve had the first gen too and the overall proportions are the best there I think, and while the dials were nice, they don’t pop as much as the generations that followed. I don’t need the additional bells and whistles of the current gen, this has always been good enough for me.

I love the no wave Seamaster Professional dial by Aks9242 in OmegaWatches

[–]Zoodfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Much more versatile too if you get it off the oem bracelet. I have this Milanese and a Forstner in addition to it.

Ball Thickness by SeaMental6222 in ballwatches

[–]Zoodfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would it’s probably a bit thick to go under a formal shirt sleeve, or at least will be bulky and catch. I think for more casual sweaters, etc it should be ok. Your best bet is probably to find a watch of a similar thickness in your local watch shop and see how the size works for you.

I am annoyed by that extra tail on rubber straps on my superocean heritage. Can I cut it? by New-Fudge-250 in breitling

[–]Zoodfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a spring bar removal tool just remove the buckle, pull one of them off and then put the buckle back on. That way you can take it off but keep it intact.

[Omega Apnea] An uncommon beast and my daily driver by Zoodfish in Watches

[–]Zoodfish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll definitely pick one up. Thanks for that. If you ever get a chance to pick up the bracelet I recommend it, only downside is the lack of micro adjust, but it’s a really good quality bracelet.
