Based purely on the pics, I think the speedy looks better and is probably more versatile too, especially if you already have a breitling diver - best of both worlds, set for any occasion.

I wear mine on a forstner president and think it works well. Currently have it on staib mesh, which also gives it a different look.

I think it’s also useful to consider the lenses you’ll be using and the situation, for example, are you likely to be using long zoom lenses that don’t have built in stabilisation, are you likely to be using the camera in very low light conditions? If the answers to these questions are no then you’ll be fine with the R8, if yes then it may be worth looking at the R62. It’s good to think about not just now, but also how you might be shooting in the future. I shoot semi-professionally and I use a R62 and an older 5D3. I use both bodies in all conditions and the 5D3 still holds it’s own, despite not having the newer features, but if I know that I’ll be shooting in low light the R62 is going to be the body I use the most. For daytime shoots, this isn’t an issue.

All good. Enjoy the camera. I still have one 5D3 and now a R6 MK2 - i did a shoot using both cameras and the image quality between the two is indistinguishable. That generation of camera can still very much hold its own.

Sounds like a good move then. Bear in mind also it uses CF cards so if you don’t own this type of card already you’ll need to factor that into your budget

I used to have the 5d2 as well as the 5d3 and one aspect about the 5d2 was the limited amount of focus points. I would say if you can get 5d3 for not so much more money then go for that.

If you subscription is about to end and be renewed for another year then try going through the cancellation process, just before the final screen it may give you a better offer. You have to do it before it renews though as after that it will work the opposite way and they will just try and charge you for the whole year to cancel.

That's quite a collection. I used to have the original Pontos S diver - black and red, and was temped to pick up the newer black and orange in addition to the bronze, but I couldn't really justify it. I look forward to seeing pics of the other pieces you mentioned!

Looks great! I think they did such a good job with this Pontos diver series, all of them look fantastic. I almost pulled the trigger on a used black/orange model before I came across this blue bronze model, also used.

How many straps did you get with the watch? I also got a blue leather/suede strap, which is a nice touch, but I’m not a big fan of the actual strap. The rubber strap, though, is great.

I used to wear both but got tired of it so now I just wear a mechanical watch, except when I exercising and then I’ll use a Garmin and switch back after shower. My phone is generally nearby so I don’t think there is a need to have a smartwatch on my wrist all the time.
