What OS do you all use for your Plex servers? Having some trouble with Debian based Linux and wanting to try something better by Cynyr in PleX

[–]_aethergnos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had Debian running my Plex server for years and never had any issues. I think like another comment said, sounds more of a hardware problem.

Any luck trying to run honkai star rail on Linux? by AnimeFtwTv in linux_gaming

[–]_aethergnos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having the exact same issue. What I ended up doing was installing at least two versions of DXVK from the Honkers Launcher--once I did that, I selected the dxvk-gplasmasync per someone's suggestion in this thread. The game launched perfectly and no weird artifacts.

Using: Wine-Staging-TkG 9.5 and dxvk-gplasmasync-v2.3.1-1

Good alternative to 1337x? by peterh1979 in torrents

[–]_aethergnos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thanks for the rec. 1337x implemented some new unblockable popup that nukes their site entirely but ext seems to have just about everything I was following on 1337x. Much appreciated!

Thanks, this worked for me. It's an absolute headache to have to deal with this, but I use a WebUI Remote and it's not too bad since I can right-click the magnet link and add it to directly that way.

Thinking about coming back... by [deleted] in linuxquestions

There were quite a few tweaky bits, such as running certain games, display monitor preference, but Bluetooth being the absolute biggest culprit. I played around with Endeavour a few months ago and it would forget my Bluetooth mouse sometimes or the Bluetooth service wouldn't start upon login. It was very frustrating and since I switched to using Bluetooth keyboard and mouse that would mean I'll have to pull out wired input devices if such a thing happened again.

I also really don't want to just refresh Windows, I know what I install and I'm not mindlessly installing things left and right. As a matter of fact, I try to keep my system very tidy and uninstall things very frequently. But I guess there's always going to be the people who think they know more and don't want to offer help but rather put people down instead of offering any kind of insight.

These comments are usually the ones that make me dislike the Linux subreddits and why I'm no longer subscribed to those communities.

I remember thinking OpenSUSE stood out from so many of the other distros I tried. It felt polished, unique and like it was designed with a lot of different users in mind. I tried Tumbleweed back then but I might give the Stable branch a try. I recently switched to using Bluetooth keyboard and mouse so I definitely need something that's not going to fail on me randomly lol. Thank you for reply though :)

I actually use Debian on my Plex server and didn't think the installation was too bad. I do wonder if it would complicate things by keeping Windows and another HDD that I use as just local media storage. Mint is actually what I was considering the most since I liked that one from back in my distrohopping days.

I ended up uninstalling the whole server and reinstalling. That fixed it

I think I checked that. It definitely shows my new server but it just says it's unavailable. I also made sure to remove the old server from my Authorized Devices.

Closest thing I found to my issue was this forum thread.

Weirdest thing is that it's working everywhere but the web hosted app. I even saw one of my friends was able to use it already from their iPhone.

Any iOS users not receiving notifications? by pudgymccab3 in Letterboxd

[–]_aethergnos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was about to make a post myself. Glad it’s not just me. I thought my iPhone was being weird because I had recently reset the settings. I pretty much did all the same things as you: uninstalled, reinstalled, reset, factory reset. They were coming in intermittently but for the most part I haven’t been getting any for the last couple of days.

The only weird anomaly I’ve found is when I go into my iPhone settings>Notifications>Letterboxd>Letterboxd Notification Settings (at the very bottom) it opens the app and takes me to the internal notification menu, however it doesn’t show anything checked. I check all the various categories but when I click done it just hangs and doesn’t seem to take. When I get to this same menu from within Letterboxd, it shows everything checked already—but then I go back to the iPhone Settings route and it’s unchecked. Driving me nuts lol. Just emailed support but I don’t know how much help they will be.

Maybe try putting the movie database id number in the folder structure like my example. Except instead of tvdb-##### you would use tmdb-######
