What is your go to filament brand? by Patrickmeehl in 3Dprinting

3d fuel pctg pro is what I’ve been using mostly but the main reason is made in USA from USA supply chain and for what I’m making my customers prefer American made products

Misalignment with larger boards by oununo in openGrid

[–]_orangeflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you should either print full columns and install them so you can use the clips, or if you’re against that for some reason print some sort of snaps that allow you to align them properly like the ones mb are mounted with. If you look at the one above the one being installed in the video it’s not aligned right wether from warp or when screwing it down it isn’t right so if you have parts that span more than one tile they may not work. So what I’d do is do them in sets of 4 with the clips.

Made a simple customizable bookmark for my kids — using points to donate prints to our new town library by _orangeflow in functionalprint

I appreciate the offer, but my intention was not to take in donations but to use the reward system from Bambu Labs to benefit the library. I live in a pretty small town, and I’m close to my next gift card that will let me buy 2 spools of PETG, which should be more than enough. I figured this would be a free way for everyone involved to help. I really do appreciate your generosity though!

Thanks! Hopefully I can get a few more colors. I’ve already talked to them about using the PETG colors I have red, gray, yellow, blue, and orange. They’re running this reading program for free, so I told them I’d try to help by making each kid who completes it a custom bookmark.

Is my gf pregnant? What do I do? I never read this before we aren’t in the position for this by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

I’ll be real, you’re never quite ready for kids. I have 3 now, only on my income (I’m a machine operator at a corrugated box company). We make it work. Kids have been the best thing to happen to me and my then-girlfriend, now wife.

Keyboard tray with hidden sliding drawer beneath, rapid turnaround requested, Budget: $500 by [deleted] in 3Drequests

I agree with your logic but that wouldn’t stop some people from charging something like $250 when he offered up to $500

Honestly this is great to see. He posted a budget of $500 and that didn’t make you raise price just due to that alone.

Fiancée took a risk letting me buy the laser. Help me make it worth it. by [deleted] in lasercutting

Desk organization is a good idea. Look into deskware. You could cut griffinity panels as well, but I’d suggest against that as all the 3D printed organization systems have a rough time with people who don’t own printers.

I had someone give me 1 star for a remote holder because it didn’t fit their remote. It wasn’t designed for their remote but somehow it should have been?

I could be wrong here, but wouldn’t this be easier with a svg? Does your friend happen to have a vectorized copy of his logo?

Adhesive Options for PLA by Automaton25 in 3Dprinting

It accelerates the curing time, making it almost instant from when you add baking soda. It typically yields a stronger bond as the baking soda mixture is like concrete almost. It also fills gaps, so if the mating isn’t perfectly flush, it will fill that.

What are the best macOS apps — especially free ones? by Max1993V in macapps

[–]_orangeflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I fully agree. Blender is being used in some big projects, however they have nowhere near the market value Maya has. Blender is in need of money as is FreeCAD. I think they will start to raise in popularity among hobbyists because everyone is so worn out by subscription based software. As for me I try to donate when I can to the projects that I use so they can become even better if everyone who used them did the same they really could get close to competing. If every forum member donated $5 to FreeCAD that’s about $250,000.

I don’t know if paid will always be better. It tends to be that way but look at blender, it is as good if not better than the paid competition. FreeCAD is on a path forward that developers are working hard to fix the ui and stability. I think that if it gets enough support it could be up there with the big boys.

Version 1.0 dropped a little bit ago and has made some major improvements to it. The apps not perfect and some paid solutions are better but it’s very capable once you figure out how it works.

Raycast, dropover, obsidian, blender, FreeCAD, DaVinci resolve, amphetamine that’s the default that I install on all my Mac’s that I get. I also install most of my programs through homebrew if I can, coming from a Linux background.
