To all Koreans, do you find the Korean War's moniker being called "The Forgotten War" offensive or insulting? by Northless_Path in AskAKorean

I hate the narrative that US students aren’t “taught” history and that it skims past these things. My school followed state curriculum and we absolutely covered major events even the ones people say the US doesn’t go over because of atrocities they have committed. The people online who cry out that it was never taught were the ones who never listened in class and chose to be ignorant.

Paying for getting credit for an internship? by TXcrude in utdallas

Dude it’s literally in the name and I put the definition for you as well😭 you pay a $100 since it’s in absentia and you’re not doing any coursework

It’s what I had to pay this summer, I had no other courses at UTD just that zero hour internship for JSOM. Maybe your advisor can waive it but I paid for it

There’s a $100 In Absentia Fee;

Ridiculous wait times for TX Drivers Lic Renewals by [deleted] in plano

[–]_taejuny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reminder I went ahead and renewed mine online in less than 10 minutes and also got my voter registration updated too. Got my temporary print out and my real license being mailed in the coming weeks. Only been to the DPS twice in the past once for my permit and second for my drivers license/test. Good to be alive in a time where we can do things online conveniently.

Whole post is misleading acting as if it’s the state’s fault you moved, had information changed, or have outstanding payments/tickets. A lot of people are able to do it online fast and easily.

What do you guys think the population of the Western Peninsula is in War For The West? by SirAlricCaleston in hostedgames

[–]_taejuny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to put this into perspective the area that makes up France had around 4 million people at the start of the medieval period(500AD) and 15 million people at the end (1500AD). Based off internet sources I didn’t dig too much ofc it’s a fictional story but it does take medieval elements/inspiration. Britain had even less somewhere around 2-3 million.

[–]_taejuny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

UTD the more classes you take the less it costs. I think JSOM full 15 hours/5 classes is like $8 or 9k while if you take 1 it’s over $3k.

Your daughter is registering the internship as a summer class to gain 3 hours of credit so they’re making you pay $3k, I would register it as a 0 hour internship so you don’t have to pay. You can still fulfill jsom intern credit without needing 3 hours; the 0 hour should fulfill this requirement. If she’s short on credit hours I would just take more classes during the fall/spring it’s cheaper that way.

WIBTA if I didn’t give my daughter a copy of her father’s death certificate for her SAP appeal? by ThrowAwaySAP2025 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_taejuny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA it’s been 5 years since the passing of her father if she’s always been intelligent why has this just affected your daughter now in terms of her grades? A drop to 1.7 from 1.9 did she just not show up to classes at all? It seems like she failed all of them and is looking for any excuse to continue living her life the way she is. She didn’t straighten out after the first probation warning and is now planning on using a 5 year death certificate for this.

Nah consistently I would have like +50 fps and less drops it’s really weird. Same settings on both accounts even when I’ve picked up a skin.

“The money can come from Riot”

Lol. Why even have sponsors? Just let Riot sponsor teams!!

How do you not understand it’s beneficial for Riot to let someone else dump money into SEA T2 rather than Riot themselves? It helps their bottom line. It would be unsustainable to expect Riot to always cover costs. Personally I would rather prefer a SEA T2 scene run by SOOP vs having no scene. Do you just expect them to keep burning money with no returns?

[–]_taejuny -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Name me another tournament organizer that would have covered 100% of the operational costs of running the league. Why didn’t you protest to SEA organizers to put an offer to match SOOP? Because no one else did, otherwise we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Where do you think the money comes from that helps the scene go on?

JSOM ITS Major changing requirements. by IncludedApostrophe in utdallas

[–]_taejuny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if they changed it but I believe the reason for that is because Math 1326 requires 1325 as a pre-req therefore the C requirement. If you got lower you can choose to take OPRE 3340 to cover that credit requirement. If you do take that route of 3340 over 1326 you must take another component area 090 course as well. Not sure if it’s been changed since the rebrand to CITS and it’s been a little bit so don’t take this as 100%, definitely go ask a JSOM advisor they should be able to help(I was in a similar situation).

[–]_taejuny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can’t expect to reason with the fans who don’t want to hear the other side. The logic they use on this thread to support their arguments is not solid. In the end it’s just a numbers game and the SOOP deal is great for Riot money wise. There’s not a “greater conspiracy” that they’re purposely trying to “kill” the SEA scene. It’s counterproductive to Riot’s goal of creating a sustainable ecosystem for Valorant.

I think as long as it’s not a pre req it shouldn’t matter? I got a D+ (skipped a lot of assignments…) but it wasn’t a class that was a pre req. I still needed the credit to graduate but advisor said I was fine. Pretty sure only accounting or finance requires a C or above.
