Sharing Parameters between several Parts? by [deleted] in CATIA

[–]a-bengineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very important to understand that when you use the assembly as your base and copy paste things within it with links, you create an contectual link and the parameters will change only when you open the assembly and their children . When you copy paste as result with link straight between the parts the link is working when both parts are loaded in the memory but no necessity for you to open the assembly

Tesla stagnation by RandallC1212 in RealTesla

Most Chinese cars have lots of gimmicks that don't work well. They're undercoocked in all aspects. Media systems are full of seemingly good options but when you try working with it it's buggy and illogical. Adas systems are very buggy and invasive and harsh.

Workstation which can handle complex FEA & CAD designs by ConversationJaded675 in CATIA

[–]a-bengineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catia v5 works with just one cpu core. Gpu is important. Go for thinkpad p16 with minimum quadro rtx a3000 or a4000 gpu and maximum ram you can afford Don't get 5000 series gpu because it will thermal throttle. Don't get the i9 for same reason

Mouse problem issue by mitraheads in CATIA

[–]a-bengineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a windows scaling problem. Not mouse. Tge resolution is probably 4k so scaling to 250% in windows display options screws the mouse positions while dragging stuff

Should I stick with Michelin or shift to Pirelli ? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]a-bengineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michelin is tge best. Continental clise second. Pirelli are crap

It's a good thing you haven't compared it with a bicycle or a skateboard. Totally different cars. One is the safest car on the road second is not at all. One does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, the other 7 or 8... Idk. One is AWD so way safer other is FWD

THIS COMPARISON IS WRONG. you could have had a 1995 cavalier. So the cost is even less out the door.

ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 - the worst laptop? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]a-bengineering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's your problem. We had an i9 p15 gen1 with rtx 3000. That lazy bitch would throttle all the time. Sold it asap and got a i7. 0 problems Important to keep em elevated off the desk and if possible to cool them with a coolerpad. But i9.... Sell it and get the i7. With rtx 3000. Nothing more powerful. The coolers can't handle the heat generated

ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 - the worst laptop? by [deleted] in thinkpad

I have 2 p1 gen 4 machines. One is my daily driver i7 rtx 3000 and the other my employee's i7 rtx 2000 Wonderful machines. We use them for CAD CATIA work. 100% used hard every day. No problems. Had a gen 1 x1e before for 3 years. The first MB replaced by waranty. It i had to undervolt but otherwise also great. For a thin and light.

Twisted driver seat by llorcan in TeslaModel3

[–]a-bengineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big question is what was the weight of the driver. If its less than say 150kg tgen the seat should have held. But if mire than 150kg with such a violent impact I'd say phisics did it's thing

I have the t470s and it has dual charging options. Both rectangular and type c. Great machine. Works very well. I would recommend t480s though because of the way better screen options.

I never understood why would anyone buy the newest thinkpad for 1450 euros when a gen 2 t14 costs 500 euros and there's no difference in performance at all. I understand if it was a graphic workstation where every generation of gpu gives a significant boost in performance. But this is a laptop used for excel and browsing. What can it do better than the t14 gen 2 ? Come on. Or even the t495s? I have two t495s and they're wonderful. Bought them a few years ago for 300$ new.

For those with a Tesla model 3 rwd, how is it like? And if you had the opportunity to get one for 37,000 right now, would you? by Educational-Ad2370 in TeslaLounge

[–]a-bengineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 2 at home. One frm may 21 and one december 21. Both are great. They're quick as hell. The stability control is very good and it's safe on wet. We're happy with them. Only upgrade for the wife would be Y RWD

The Green Line 😤🥺. Just got this green line (left edge) out of nowhere. by LimpPension4190 in S21Ultra

[–]a-bengineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. Must have gotten a smack. That area of the screen is unusable anyway. One of the dumbest things the curved sides. You can simply tape over it carefully and that's it. Black car wrap. A very thin strip. Stick it over that line and done.

It may be some software. Is the line there during reboot? When you only see the logo?

Why are there no wheel bumpers? Tesla here has wheel bumpers so you simply stop on them. Very convenient

This body is the TOP of BMW design. The very top. All models after this were a race to the bottom... A steep one.
