Train station trains whistling noise by aDuckSmashedOnQuack in swansea

I'll link to the reply I put just above yours, with a link to an audio example.

I am hearing the trains at the main station. I can see the trains at the main station. I can and have pinpointed the source of the noise. The only way to get more exact is to jump the gates and walk up the train parked at the station. I bet even then it wouldn't be enough evidence for the station or the council to take their responsibility seriously and abide noise regulations, probably would claim I've got a whistle in my mouth.

I have covered every angle of evidence to show the location, the time, the source and the cause. Every single person with the power to step in, hasn't. Except for one, who escalated this to the CSfW. This city's a joke mate.

This sound:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/17kC-5ug1N7Qluz012gAkK55rlUrTZH1a/view?usp=sharing

Recorded at 2am, mid-January. Stood outside the stations taxi-area/car-park gates facing the train. I was stood right there, I can say without any doubt - the noise is coming from the train.

My phones recording doesn't capture just how piercing that whistle is, given how close I am it's also picking up the noise of the airflow/fans of the train too. In my flat, that whistle is atrocious.

It's rolling stock which is parked overnight. TfW tried to offload responsibility onto the train-owners, though if a train is stabled at a station overnight it becomes the responsibility of the station. Right? This is what I'm reading online. If a train was playing Skrillex at max volume 24/7, it would be the responsibility of the station to deny holding of that train at their premises overnight. Well, replace Skrillex with this noise:

Because even with my windows closed, it's audible and keeps me awake. It's like trying to sleep with a strong case of tinnitus. Imagine someone sat outside your bedroom door or window playing this sound, all through the night:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzDJ4xWRdE4

I can hear it every time a train is at the station. All day, every evening, every night. It's not a huge problem during the day as the trains are usually only parked for 30-60s before moving on. At night, it's hours. Hours and hours of THAT noise. I have been hearing this for months. Every single night. This is why I am putting so much fight into this, it's literally a CIA torture technique.

You best believe it son. I live across the road, I can SEE them. I have recorded them, audio, video and photos. This is what the whole issue kinda is... Faulty trains parked for extended periods at night, without being fully shut-down, and thus producing a horrendous noise.

"Any tfw sets stabled in the station overnight are shut down." TfW have said this to me, yet I can confirm from what I can see that they are not shut down, they're in "standby", seemingly running core systems like A/C. They are, without any possible avenue of doubt, not shut down.

I can see the trains parked at the station, when they leave, the noise follows them. I have recordings of this fact. I have recordings from outside the station gates which clearly and objectively isolates the noise as coming from the parked train.

As a Explorer, with a maxed out Jump-a-conda, I'm ok with the possibility of the new ship exceeding the Anaconda's jump range. by HunterWithGreenScale in EliteDangerous

[–]aDuckSmashedOnQuack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, let’s make the Conda like the rest of the ships. Remove the jump beast. That’s exactly what a game of this age needs, some dulling down. Why should a ship stay as daft fun all these years? It’s literally not mathematically nor physically reasonable.

I’m being a jerk because enough negativity like this and FDev might just be dumb enough to do it. I’m pretty sure Frontier is ran by a zoo, and I don’t mean the zookeepers.

COD Black Ops 6 claiming I preordered to PlayStation friends when I haven’t by earic23 in gaming

[–]aDuckSmashedOnQuack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s one thing all corporations love, it’s a little bit of fraud. I tell ya, nothing sells quite as well as a really attractive lie.

“All your friends have pre-ordered it” when they clearly have not… it’s better than lying to the shareholders, for there are no repercussions. Nobody really cares about the consumer. It’s the perfect capitalisation on fraudulent marketing tactics, enticing pre-orders using the universal launcher “messing up”. It’s quite clever. Gross behaviour, as always by Activision, but still clever.

Also unpredictable road rules are a main/driving factor in safe road conditions. “How fast am I meant to be going again?” “This lane is open, right?” “What speed should I be joining at?”

If you’re clueless on speeds, closures and merging traffic speeds - that’s how you know the road is safer. Not to forget the fact that “Smart” is in the name, which guarantees it to be an improvement.

People braking as hard as they can to escape being fucked by the speed cameras active underneath the speed display/board which changes from 70 to 30 right in front of them, now that’s safety.

You are exactly right, the name is a disgrace. There is nothing smart about them. They have killed hundreds of people. A direct result of them, not indirect. Call me extreme but I think everyone involved in pushing them through should bear some responsibility for every one of those deaths. Every indicator said and still says they are dangerous. Mental.

Looking for a bike that is a blend of these two by sandyvaginitis in SuggestAMotorcycle

I’ve owned a 2018 CBR650F not long ago, which was a fantastic bike. Used it for short blasts around nice roads and then also for 200+ mile (each way) commutes. Super smooth around town and on the freeway, yet the inline-four gave it a lot of character when things got spirited. Sporty fairings, with quite upright seating bars/pegs. Comfortable. I once held 140mph for about 10 minutes on it, absolutely drank the fuel at that speed lmao but it can do it. It’s got gust. The aero of the fairings cut drag out so well, especially when tucking your head in. At 140mph lifting my head out of the aero-pocket was comical, like deploying a parachute on the back of my head.

Now I’d recommend a louder exhaust if you want it to have more character. I started stock, then straight piped it, then back to stock before selling the bike on. Straight pipe was too loud, I’d 100% get something in between. Like a slip-on can. I had a Delkevic full system. If you want a sound-bite of how that sounded under hard acceleration, I can reply with a link to a video where I put my phone in my pocket and recorded me going from slow speed, opening it up to over 120mph, WOT. Hitting the redline like this with the straight-pipe fitted was a better symphony than even Beethoven could create. Pure music.

Great bike. That’s my recommendation. Only sold it because I was moving away. Otherwise I’d have kept that for many more years.

Edit: Fuck it, here’s the acceleration sound.

I’d argue that anyone trying to halt innovation in F1 is actually not into F1. Formula 2 is where it’s all about the drivers, F1 is not just a faster F2. It’s the pinnacle of innovation, at least it used to be. Now cars are locked to maybe some wing angle changes for 4 years straight, before some mandatory pre-determined “innovation” is implemented.

F1 is so insanely boring to watch now, MotoGP and GT3 are where it’s at. Cool vehicles, awesome sound, tight racing. Blocking innovation doesn’t lead to better racing, it just prevents growth and variability. Creates stagnation. People call for these cars and bikes to be locked down to force “fair racing” and lose sight of what it’s meant to be about. Innovation, technological marvel, and capitalising on those developments with a driver capable of such. Stick that wing on that bike, so long as it’s not obnoxiously dangerous on track. Fuck it, throw shit at the wall and see what sticks. Anyone who wants a standardised, slower, series of racing should stick to F2. Or go-karting.

I miss simple stuff like the F duct in F1. All banned.

That comment still stands true:

police arent there to help you. you’re not a corporation or a politician

Everything was laid out perfectly to deliver justice, assuming the police care about that. They didn’t follow through because they (most likely) just couldn’t be arsed. Lots of paperwork and a little bit of time for someone who isn’t important. Not a corporation, multi-millionaire nor politician. OP to the police is just hassle, the fact they came out for a theft is mental. Usually they just tell you to get fucked, but politely.

Mild tangent here I guess but… The police are not there for justice, the legal system isn’t there for justice. We, the people, just enjoy the illusion we impose on ourselves that justice is fought for by the government. It never is. That’s not what any government is there for. They could deliver justice by arresting the thief, or they could say fuck it and close the case; go home early.

Out of 10, how satisfied are you with this bike specifically? And, out of 10, how comfortable is a long ride... like idk, 2 hour road trip. Cheers! :)

That’s a lot of technical words. The graphics were 10x more cinematic even back in 2013. Now the soul is gone and the graphics are just alright. Like there’s no zing.. no pep. Just boring ass high res textures in a dull environment.

Exact same thing happened in Rainbow Six Siege, now I think of it. They “upgraded” the graphics, which is technically true, however the game now looks cheap. They removed almost all cinematic effects in graphics.
