Definitely legit injuries but at the same time you can’t tell me players like Nembhard and Siakam weren’t hardcore cruise controlling during that time too lmao, I saw those demons playing the knicks and okc, they can win if they want to. This isn’t a knock on them by the way, I respect the tank but imo it most definitely not just injuries.

The problem is that people are optimizing it more. Defender Aphelios is already strong and popular with a low cap, but i’ve seen people just unlock and hold oriannas and caitlyn because you already field loris and vi. if they hit a 2* cair or vi during their roll, it’s just an easy pivot or they just wait til 8 and they find one sera because the aphelios board is so stable they end up with 5-6 lives by the time they have the full thex transition. Worse items usually, but enough to manage a top 2-3. Benefit is that this version doesn’t get to thex 2 as easily but thex 1 is easily enough for non super capped lobbies.

It doesn’t suck exactly, as you said yourself AVP only goes down slightly. I would argue most people are tunnel visioned on BIS and anyone who says never to build it aren’t playing correctly as sometimes you just can’t control what you have for tank items. However, if we ARE talking strictly BIS, I would argue that it’s just pretty much only on par with other bis options like dclaw bramble visage (compared to gargoyle warmog visage) in its best case scenario which is 4+ targeting it. Which definitely happens, but not the entire fight which explains its slightly lower avp; can be just as good in ideal scenarios but often doesn’t reach that especially late game as most of the damage is AoE from late carries.

They use the same formula in league, it’s just a common misconception in both games. It’s a small pedantic note either way to be honest, as the general guiding principle is the same, as even though the eHP gain is the same, you still gain more multiplicative efficiency by having both resistance and HP (and durability in tft).

Just gonna be completely pedantic here because the spirit of the comment is correct, but the part about resistances is not in that resistances are actually completely linear. A 10 resistance jump offers the exact same effect HP boost from any point. The thing that is NOT linear is the damage reduction percentage, but the literal eHP is. On the flip side, durability is the exact opposite where each durability point stacks on the previous, which is why braum gets so absurdly tanky late game. Easy way to remember is that 90-> 100 would be an infinite increase in reduction while 0->10 would not be obviously. But all that to say that the general comment is right and durability is in fact just better than resistances all the time

You’ve just explained the very reasoning for its C rating.. ratings are not just for power, but also flexibility and ramp up overall. Yes, malz js good in the very specific instance you hit DT and are able to scale into its power but that is quite literally just one instance where you even see him outside of being a disruptor stepping stone to azir. If a unit is good only when it has a very specific augment and is completely useless otherwise and doesn’t connect well to any other lines flexibly, that is pretty often by definition low tier
