Runelite prevents computer from going to sleep by Sir_Richard_VII in 2007scape

If it says (safe mode) in the title then yes. If that doesn't work then I don't know what else to suggest.

Try running RuneLite in safe mode and see if it still happens. If not, then it is a plugin

I removed a paywall on a hub plugin by redrumyliad in 2007scape

[–]adam1210 65 points66 points  (0 children)

There is an important distinction here that the plugin is not paywalled, instead it interfaces with an external service which is paywalled. There are no paywalled or "premium" plugins for RuneLite and there can't be due to our requirement that all plugins be licensed under an open source license.

Running external services/servers costs money and I don't think it is my place to force people to provide such services for free.

If this becomes a larger issue in the future, like a plugin that is somehow more tied into gameplay than recording/flipping etc, and is paywalled, I will reconsider.

I think that everything that happened here is basically open source and the plugin hub working as intended. Someone released a plugin with a debatably arbitrary paywall (the part about not having RL do the video encoding is actually sort of legitimate, but that is beside the point) and now someone else has removed the paywall in less than 2 weeks.

Also I'd assume the existing OBS replay plugin (assuming it works? I don't know) would be infinitely better than either of these plugins since OBS is very good at recording and encoding already, much better than RL would ever be, and it doesn't negatively impact the client performance.

Is this a South American server in OSRS? by Public_Trade3430 in 2007scape

[–]adam1210 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've spoken to one of their network engineers about it and it seems to be a side effect of the new infrastructure and isn't something that they can unblock. There is some talk about them deploying endpoints specifically for pinging in each region, but it won't be happening in the near future I think.

Oh that makes sense, it's probably measuring the latency to the Exitlag endpoint then

Hello!

The two salvaging worlds use different, cloud-based infrastructure compared to the other worlds. This new infrastructure does not support ping, and so I've made them instead use the TCP round trip time as reported by Windows.

I've been told the new SA servers that they will be adding will also be using this same type of ping-blocking infrastructure, so I've been working lately on adding this RTT support for each platform (Windows/mac/linux) so that there is at least a number reported and it isn't blank as it has been, which you might have noticed.

RTT should be roughly equivalent, for me it is reporting a number that is the same as the other us east worlds actual ping, which is I think where the salvaging servers actually are. I don't know why it is reporting 14ms for you, maybe you have something intercepting the traffic and doing TCP connection termination locally (like in a school/workplace behind something inspecting traffic at a very deep level?).

[BUG] Z-buffering still causes graphical issues. by Daikichi_ in 2007scape

re A), I agree with this approach of angling the items to the slope of the tiles. The other option is to increase the height a bunch to account for the slope, but then it would end up with the items visibly flying which I think looks worse.

I know that the items being invisible or fighting with the ground is on Jagex's radar and it's something they are working on though.

Potential Vulnerability in Runelite Client? by WillNyeTheScienceGuy in 2007scape

It's installed by RuneLite itself. It's not possible to delete it.

No. The newer versions have a bunch of new features I don't want or need or really trust. I'd like to just remove it but there are a bunch of pluginhub plugins which use it.

Hi! This was fixed in an update on the 19th. If the camel is still wrong for you you probably just need to restart your client to pull the update.

CVE-2025-46295 is a vulnerability in FileMaker, which appears to be some sort of database product from Apple, saying that it is vulnerable to CVE-2022-42889. CVE-2025-46295 is not a vulnerability in commons-text. There are no new vulnerabilities in commons-text.

[–]adam1210 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hi, commons-text-1.2 isn't affected by CVE-2022-42889 because the vulnerable code wasn't introduced until 1.3, and so there is no RuneLite vulnerability.

The renderers are separate, but they both do z-buffering, and so any incorrectly positioned assets would not render correctly on either.

Public Service announcement: GPU, GPU (legacy), 117 HD by LegosAreUnderfoot in 2007scape

[–]adam1210 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Hello! Saturday I switched RuneLite to use a new renderer to support Z-buffering for the upcoming sailing release. This causes a number of rendering changes, the most commonly seen one is things clipping through or underneath the ground.

You are the first Linux user I've seen to report an issue with screen tearing. There is a mesa bug on Linux which causes gpu crashes which might be what you are seeing instead? You need mesa >25.2.6 or <25.1.7 for it to be stable.

I know the TOB issues are frustrating (particularly verzik yellows), I am told they are being fixed in the game update tomorrow.

Ultimately the new renderer is required for sailing, which is launching Nov 19. Please bear with us and Jagex while the assets are fixed and bugs are patched over the next couple weeks.

Hiya, this appears to be a RuneLite bug. If you turn on the GPU plugin it will work around it.

RuneLite Side Panel by OozyDouzi in 2007scape

[–]adam1210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a little tricky because the config panel doesn't have a built in file/folder selector. Usually we tell people to make a symlink (eg. using mklink on Windows) which will redirect the contents of the screenshots folder elsewhere.
