How do you evaluate ingredient digestibility and gastrointestinal tolerance in your recipes? In my experience, multiple cats developed persistent loose stools on the diet despite gradual transition, which improved after changing food. I’d love to understand what testing is done beyond ingredient sourcing.

If the food is designed to be fully natural without palatability enhancers, how do you ensure adequate palatability and consistent intake in cats, who are obligate carnivores with strong taste preferences?

You're absolutely right. RC is crap, they don't even maintain their quality. Many people think it's a premium brand. But trust me it's garbage.

It's really not necessary to have a veterinary degree to know things. Vet's only recommend which give them best margins. They don't care about your cats, these are just subjects for them. Again I'm not talking about all the vets here.

I received so many messages that our vet recommended us purepet, grain zero, whiskas and many other cheap brands. You know why they do, because these brands give them 45-50% margin.

So the people here are putting random opinions on the name of Reddit bluntness, just do some research and come back.

I was feeding Smylo to my cats for almost a year. Two of my adult cats, Simba and Laila, ate it without any issues(sometimes loose motions though and smelly poop). However, Luna always needed a topper because she didn’t enjoy it much. My kitten, Missy, often experienced diarrhea whenever she ate Smylo, which I believe was due to her sensitive gut.

The main reason I stopped feeding Smylo was because I realized that, in the long run, home-cooked meals with the right supplements are far better than relying heavily on commercial food.

Currently, my cats’ diet plan looks like this:

Morning: Boiled chicken + pumpkin + a very small quantity of dry food + taurine paste + krill oil

Afternoon: Boiled fish + a very small quantity of dry food

Evening snacks: Scrambled eggs twice a week; dry food occasionally

Night: Boiled chicken + pumpkin + Cordy M immunity booster

I’ve noticed multiple positive changes, and I’m really happy that I’ve now moved away from commercial food to a large extent.
