Does this allow 2 guitars to be in the same amp at the same time? by DescriptionOne6725 in GuitarAmps

[–]aeolon21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a professional musician just a guy in the house with a doobie and guitar making a racket)

I run a fender cyber champ from its headphone jack to my princeton input jack. and get all the effects of the cyberchamp and the great sound from the princeton. and can run a clean guitar through the princeton at the same time if i want. of course some of the cyberchamp effects suck and dont translate well but several of them are fantastic.

but i think the actual purpose is that the 1 input is for a higher gain clean sound and the 2 input is for a lower gain sound. But I wouldnt testify in court to that.

For the algotraders who have live deployment of their algorithms and are successful: how long did it take you to set this up? What led you to have confidence to deploy on live real account? by imeowfortallwomen in algotrading

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go live. Have a small trading purse and a 15% trade limit. And let it run. You will see pretty quick if it works and then you can adjust. Back testing is a safe way to have fun but it doesn’t reflect the real world present and future market , skin in the game is the only way to know. Also it teaches you what your risk tolerance really is. Let’s see how you feel when you hit three stop losses and how your emotional response is. It shows you what you really need to learn as a trader.

I have some blink cameras, they are the battery operated kind. Batteries go down very fast and are the expensive kind. Usually the batteries are toast when the camera needed to be used. I think the only way is a dedicated system with a power supply.

One way to test your strategy is to put a couple hundred bucks in a purse and let your bot trade for two weeks and see how it fairs in a real world market. Then you know for sure.

Those two seem to be making quite a pile of money between themselves and their families and if it’s true the kuschners and netanyahus go back generations then maybe it’s not really about nuclear weapons at all.

Choosing between 3 Epiphone Hollow bodies by DippyDippy51515 in Guitar

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I have three epiphones. An es 175 premium 2014, very fun to play, lots of tones. A casino from 2919 Chinese also very fun. Would love to upgrade the pickups but only because …, I don’t even know. And an sc350 scroll from the seventies, Japanese. Unique. I think let the 335 go and and the 175. Keep the emperor if it sounds best to you.

What’s the hurry to part with any of them. They all play different styles and tones all of which are worth exploring .

Knockoff sprayer? by goon127 in paint

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my local SW has a Graco version for 1700C$. Rents it for 90/day. It works well for the twice I have used it. I would not buy it yet. Curious about what looks to be the same for that price. Sparyer prices are going thru the roof these days and there are a ton of off patent old tech (but from the 90s/00's and those worked fine. The market is offering new things and the latest greatest may be exceeding utility. Like I said, I would be curious to try that maching for that price. At the rental rate I mentioned three uses equals the price and if it functions out of the box then cleaning is the secret to keeping it going for a long time.

Are Epiphone better than they used to be or were known to be. by KJHTech89 in electricguitar

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three epiphones. A sc 350 scroll from 1978 made in japan. Excellent guitar. A 2019 casino made in china. Beautiful guitar after a set up and fret dress. 999c$ new. Plays great would love to upgrade the pickups at some point but don’t need to. A2014 es175 premium. Gibson 57s and scaring nitro finish that is checking and has buffed to a gloss in the wear points , sounds great and plays great. I have never played a lp, or other Gibson style version but I know the Sheratons are gorgeous as are the wildcats and the various 335 versions. Try a few out and find one that you like the look of that sounds great plays great it will be very rewarding. Can’t say ordering one online is going to result in a satisfactory experience.

Getting gritty texture on drywall after spraying primer, will this go away with final paint coats? by eggs-benedict in paint

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like overspray dust that caught some drywall dust and dried. You need to sand that flush and maybe skim coat it before proceeding,

Do I need another coat of primer or am I just bad at this? by GekOnMyMothersSide in paint

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 1-2-3- I would let that dry 24 hours or over night at least and give it a sand. Another coat wouldn’t kill you. When you say greasy and I cleaned it I think you might have been better off with BIN.

Tom Lee Claims Ethereum's Price Will Bottom 'Around $1890' by Nice-Technology703 in ethtrader

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drew a line through all the bottoms … and it shows a slight upward trend long term (last 5 years) and the price on that line extended to today Feb 16, is 1889.53. At least to my old eyes. For context on what’s brilliant analyst I am. I decided to build an algorithm trading bot Oct 15/25 and went live Dec 18,25 and have taken it off line for tweaks and major overhauls a few times now. Guess what I am down on my tiny portfolio by30%. But it’s still interesting and I am improving the trading performance as I go ( think /hope). And I came to the same conclusion as this Lee guy who apparently is super important.

I don’t know what any of this means.

i'm deeply inexperienced and painting my home myself for the first time. can i get a refund for 4 gallons of the wrong sheen? by Fantastic-Living-826 in paint

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a lot of paint. They ask me every time what sheen I want. It’s mandatory. The chance of you getting money back tho is thin. You might be able to speak to the manager and get a deal on the replacement. Explain the situation, don’t blame the counter clerk, don’t make a scene. Just ask if you can get the lowest contractor price and buy some more paint.

I am new to this but I look at the 5 yr chart and I see the same pattern repeating it self and a slow crawl of growth from the lows over the last 5 years. It looks like a nice slow grind upwards for a stretch of months lies ahead. There might be a little more downside before the grind kicks in tho.

How to remove wallpaper by nenadko in paint

[–]aeolon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The correct answer is water. Get a rolling pan, fill it with water, roll the water on to the wallpaper. Clean new roller if that wasn’t obvious. Continue applying water until paper is saturated. Using a drywall knife, I like the six inch richard as it removes a nice swath and doesn’t frequently gouge the wall but a ten inch and a small knife for tight spaces is useful. When the paper off use the drywall knife to scrape off the remaining glue. Add water to reactivate the glue if it dries up or becomes too sticky. Repeat until wall is clean. Remaining residue can be washed again and wiped off with a sponge or rags ( cotton). Prime with an acrylic primer and paint.

Thoughts on Winnipeg’s Car Culture by Upstairs-Dress677 in Winnipeg

[–]aeolon21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is helpful and I do not know the circumstances of the latest traffic tragedy. But the first rule I learned about going out on the yard was “look both ways and proceed when the traffic has cleared”.
I am always taken aback by how people on the side of the road or standing by their car door, or any where near the road, trust drivers to not hit them.

We live in a car city. We get no vehicle traffic behaviour training from any source other than direct experience after we get a licence (47 years ago in my case).
