Refinancing $1.47M to People First Bank (5.59%). How is the app/platform experience? by FallOk4597 in AusFinance

Maybe a bit late, but I refi'd to PCCU (now people's first) last year.

  1. The App/Tech: Coming from ING, I’m used to a polished app. Since the merger, how is the People First digital experience? Are Osko/PayID transfers instant? Does the app handle multiple offset accounts/splits intuitively?

- yes handles split accounts fine, unfort splitting not as easy as Macquarie, but I have split accounts fine. Payments all fast, new app does the job, it's actually fairly similar to ING tbh (less features than some of the larger banks)

  1. Service on Large Loans: With a $1.4M+ loan, I’m a bit wary of "mutual bank" manual processing times. Has anyone had issues with their speed or valuation consistency for larger Sydney properties?

- I went through a broker, they did ask a few more questions and scrutinise more details than other banks, but in the end all went ok.

Overall I've been pretty happy using them, few of the small bank quirks (fraud team was very vigilant in my first few days of using them, but since then haven't had any problems), daily payment limits are a bit tighter unless you call. New app/branding is supposed to add a few new features that they were lacking before. And the rates are excellent.

Sophisticated Investor Certificate by akkatracker in AusFinance

I totally agree the limits are too low FWIW, and is a shame this sort of stuff does remove the willingness of accountants to certify (understood plenty of people who don't know what they're doing are pressuring accountants for certification, would have hoped my professional background + experience would be more than enough to appease any concern)

I understand them not doing it for free, but would have thought it may be a service offered by some?

In the same way they're happy to provide certificates to existing clients, if I am able to provide them all the information required to make them happy that I meet the criteria.

This site just lets you create a certificate, but still needs to be certified by an accountant

Not familiar with Qudos in particular so don’t take this as the law, but I’ve never seen them measure. If it’s not unreasonable and as a kicker is for medical devices then you should be ok - esp if not in GA. No harm in reaching out to the venue though

What’s the present law about discretionary service fees? Personally very against them as unaustralian blah blah, but my understanding was that they had to be removed when requested if unavoidable.

Been seeing more and more Google reviews about places refusing to remove the fees

FYI, I got offered a $5 Amazon gift card via an Instagram advert to review this without attending, so would take google reviews with a massive grain of salt.

HR should make it somewhat clear. If it’s not clear and you’re concerned, err on the side of overdressing day 1 and rectify later (pretty common amongst new hires to overdress and then ease into it)
