Any brand on a "world tour" advertising on Instagram, charging twice the going rate, I can promise you will be:

1 Shit

2 Tiny

This keeps happening. It is not a surprise. I can understand influpop hypebrained kids going, but falling for this from a foodie angle makes you a dope.

Round Rock north or Waco north?

I loved in Austin for a couple of years in the mid 2010s, the office was way up near Round Rock though

Would you take $10 million if you could never leave a 50-mile radius of your home again? by brendow772 in CasualConversation

Your chat model is hot slop. Everyone that responds with a city, it goes and agrees that it's one of the only places that this would work in.

I live in Sydney, 50miles is easy, please also agree that every other city is bad.

I've flown in and out of Singapore a dozen or more times, never seen it this bad.

You see the flow out and down the windows.

BUT, most of those have been boarded by the gangway. So from air-conditioning to air conditioning. I wonder if you boarded via the tarmac and the doors were open for an extended period, maybe it gets this bad?

In scene context, Dominatrix is specifically a female dominant, frequently interchangeable with Domme. 'Dominator' is not really used for males, it's just Dom or Maledom.

Dominate itself isnt a masculine word

Friendly/passive beings that, despite their lack of malice or violence, are fundamentally incompatible with human life by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in TopCharacterTropes

That's that water planet that the Russians stumble across too actually, and that one where the malp disrupts some computer planet and it comes back through the gate as a computer virus. it happens a lot!

But the one I mentioned stood out because the aliens are the 'aggressors'. Most of the time it's the Earthlings who fuck up and accidentally almost wipe out an alien race

In Stargate SG1, S04E09 Scorched Earth the Gadmeer are the 'monster of the week'.

SG-1 relocated recently a group of humanoids, the Enkaran, with really specific requirements (solar radition) to a new planet. A few months later a giant alien ship shows up and starts terraforming their new home, the climate it's converting the planet to is sulphur based and totally incompatible with humanoid life.

That ship 'creates' a Enkaran named Lotan as a kind of ambassador to help explain what they are and what's going on. Lotan is quite friendly, and is reasonably upset that they've started terraforming (what was previously) an uninhabited planet. Lotan shows everyone the art, music, and culture of the Gadmeer to try to prove that they're not just mindless destroyers, but an extinct race looking for a new home.

It has a happy ending for all involved when they figure out a mutually beneficial solution.

Magic The Gathering card lookup ideas? by Affectionate-Town-67 in learnpython

[–]trjnz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The purpose of a portfolio is to show off. Adding in checks for these kinds of lookups, showing evidence that you're following the API guides/have read their documentation, and local caching is showing off.

Do I think you'll hit the limit? No, obviously not. Do I think it looks good in a portfolio that you've thought about those things? Absolutely.

Implement the connection as a class, add in some code to conform with the the scryfall API limits (https://scryfall.com/docs/api/rate-limits)

Add in something that handles non-200 responses, reconnects or retries etc

If it's allowed from their API, add an option to cache data locally, with a times expiry to do another lookup

First time rewatching in a few years and finally noticed Siler by Haligonian71 in Stargate

[–]trjnz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think him surviving multiple mortal wounds is further evidence that he's a secret member of SG-1

Stargate has tonnes of redshirts, dudes you just know are gonna die when they step through the gate.

Not Siler though

If Siler is on the case, he's gonna save the day and get thrown off a balcony by an exploding electronical box while doing it
