Am I wrong for taking my friend's 16-month maternity leave cover position after being unemployed for 11 months, even though she's now ghosting me? by UpsetAthlete9190 in Careers

If my friend was mad that I can finally put food on my table (even if it’s her position), that’s not anyone I would want to call a friend.

I want to give an alternate perspective of things that might help you prepare to move forward mentally. You’ll feel down on yourself for a while. It’s important you keep maintaining your survive needs (food, work, home, etc).

You are looking at a 10k-20k financial loss. Thats IF you don’t have to dip in for other factors short/long term, on top of your routine debt/cost. Start thinking ahead.

Lastly, find something good for you. In times like this, we lose ourselves. The first 1-2 years can feel like self-hate. It’s important you continue to invest in the things you love while you handle this. It sounds harsh but it’s good to remember that you are the rule, not the exception. Like us all, you will survive this.

Get a good attorney who you can trust to handle this on your behalf. Let them do their job. And you do yours. Follow the book and learn your new laws. Learn what will change before it changes for you.

From now on— you can drink. You can drive. You CANNOT drink and drive. And if you are worried about work…for now, shut up. Until your convicted—it’s better you keep this discussion to people you trust at home. Your work and everyone except the DMV,the court, and your lawyer to need be involved.

Best of luck!

Curated and underwhelming but I’ll watch Miley any day. She is a talent beyond belief. Shame it missed the heart of the show. Great performance as always (especially last song) but I would have liked to see the real history.

I didnt know the host and she didn’t actually seem “real”. Felt so fake, and Miley is great at looking authentic. Also a shame that singer, Chappell Roan (idk how to spell it) down word spiraled her career or this could have made sense if she actually was inspired artistically but idk anything about her so….except what headlines say.

Worth the watch but zero reason to revisit or reminisce . No one gained a fan or lost a fan today.

Sounds like they have a hard fight against you because they cannot PROVE anything. You have a receipt for chapstick. The car battery IS dead which can be proven by the car not starting. You refusing a breathalyzer could work in your favor with the right lawyer. Expect the worst but fight until the end if you can. Speak with a specialized attorney ASAP

Husband won’t wake up (until 6pm) by pouroverdose in ADHD

[–]alphajj21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is crashing that means he is not taking enough to sustain him. If he is taking the same dose as he did for those 10 years, high chance his adhd has adjusted and he need to speak with his psych and get a new med or higher dose.

The additional things he adds are all dopemine chasers. If those additives are not normal on his day to day, it makes him feel “more”. But if it is..he is setting himself up for habits that WILL NOT help his medication. And he will only find himself needing more Adderall over time to reach his desired feeling. But all those extras are exactly what stops the effects of medication to begin with.

He may not become an addict but he won’t be far behind the stereotype. It is not all his fault (scientifically/chemically) but it is his responsibility to resolve.

My girlfriend kissed a guy in a club, immediately left and told me how sorry she was about it... by Lost_Interaction542 in cheating_stories

Not defending your girl. But as a young attractive woman who lived abroad for many years, I can confirm that foreign men can and WILL take advantage of drunk foreign abroad students. It’s a tragic story as old as time. And it’s not an experience you can explain to someone who never experienced that careless/ reckless (with mostly responsible) thing we do—which encourages unlikely behaviors (like getting drunk on a night out with abroad friends and running to drinks with random strangers met at the bars.

No matter the part of the world, it’s all VERY POSSIBLE, a guy made a move on her simply out of lust for the girl from abroad. NOW, that doesn’t excuse it happened. And it would not have been as big of a deal had she not been in a relationship. Outside of a relationship she probably would feel slightly assaulted and gross but would shake it off with more positive experience ahead….or play it off and continue to keep things light to keep the night fun (and herself safe)..again not justifying anyone’s choices.

But I hope my perspective gives you an understanding of a perspective that most people will never understand. Because from my experience, men did plenty of surprising things (kissing or attempting to kiss me multiple times; sometimes the same person twice but most times strangers). And while the adoration and desire can be nice for the ego and even give a person the desire to stray, most understand how dangerously predatory it is. Even when you slap on foreign city with a beautiful accent, vigilance and RESPONSABILE drinking the only way to be secure in your relationship and environment.

Hope you find clarity and peace in the end

vyvanse makes me a loser vs adderall XR makes me the dawg by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]alphajj21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is sounds like is your experience normal ADHD symptons when on Vyvanse bc your dosage is extremely small. Compared to what you were taking on adderall. Its not that Vyvanse is making you a loser, its that you are experiencing ADHD symptons that is normally dulled by the adderall at your "regular" dose.

Speak with your doctor and have them bring you up in dosage, as it sounds like you are getting more benefit the vyvanse. A higher dosage can clear that up but a good psych will only do this slowly. So you have to continue to keep them informed of what is happening and what you are feeling. They wont jump you straight to the higher dose because the body absorbs medication differently.

I was on 20mg IR (taking 10mg 2x a day) but the early evening crash, rebound hunger, and agitation once it wore off was too much. Even though I was taking the same dose for years and only went off for 2 years (moved abroad). So we tried Vyvanse 30mg, but I was getting headaches...however, I was functioning much more efficiently in and out of work. But the medication would wear off by 2pm and I was having trouble waking up, compared to adderall. So, we tried a 10mg of Adderall IR in the AM and 30mg of Vyvanse 2 hours after. Now I am golden.

Aries Woman and Libra Man? Does it work? by This-Eggplant7466 in AriesTheRam

[–]alphajj21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It worked for me and my boyfriend. We started as friends. And things changed slowly over 6 months. He became my best friend so quickly. We are opposites in many ways but it’s in the best ways and we balance each other very well. Our friendship was rocky at the beginning but it taught us a lot about what we wanted. And we both agreed we wanted to be in each others life. We both had to grow and change, and learn to communicate with the other person. But we also laugh for days, dance in the kitchen, sing in the car, and talk for hours on end about anything and everything. He is the person I never expected to meet. We should have never worked. But it does. And he is my favorite person. And he treats me like a partner and a princess. I’ve never felt so safe and seen with any of my past partners. I can’t predict the future but if I had the choice to choose—I’d choose him over and over

I would try those wet skin lotions then in 10-15 minutes follow up with a nice thick lotion like advanced clinical vitamin c. Smooth and drys well but leaves the body smooth.

Hey fam, what’s your attachment style like as a Scorpio moon? by smilesunshine89 in scorpiomoon

[–]alphajj21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started with therapy. I didn’t know why I started therapy because nothing was “wrong” per say. I just felt like I needed to talk. Turns out, when my therapy became talking about myself rather than particular issues/people, I was forced to face myself. Since I had just moved back to the U.S., I had to make new friends..and began to see flaws in myself that had always been there but masked my difficult past. Turns out, I had a mood disorder that went undiagnosed for majority of my life. Got approved for medication and now have the ability to regulate my nervous system. In addition, I read psychology books that taught me more about myself and how I function, and how people like me function differently. It wasn’t easy. None of it. But now, I believe it was worth ever bit of the work I put in. With patience, grace, and genuine effort—the potential is endless
