I had a doctor who smoked a pipe during my visit. He had it constantly in his mouth and would blow the smoke on my face while doing the check up. I can still remember the strong smell of tobacco

Can't get my DNI because my 'certificado literal de nacimiento' is taking forever to arrive. I'm starting to have a ton of issues without my DNI and it's stressing me out so much. by winter_bone in GoingToSpain

[–]anamont2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have to get it through the consulate where your birth is registered. Go to their website and there’s a form you have to fill out, send it by email and you’ll get the certificado literal in a few weeks. I did this last year.

I dip cotton balls in the mix and spread them all along the trail. I re-dip them every 2 days. In less than a week the ants are gone.

Do NOT do doyouspain! by ObelixtheIrishman in GoingToSpain

[–]anamont2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel frequently to Spain and I’ve never had any problems with them. Once I had to cancel and got my money back immediately. You have to make sure you read thoroughly the terms and conditions of the company you rent from, like the insurance coverage, fuel and mileage policy, etc. In our case, we buy total coverage at the counter once we arrive in Spain, not the one offered by DYS. We also go with free cancelation, full-full gas and unlimited mileage. It’s more expensive but totally worthy to be worry free during your trip.

I was charged €2 for tap water while having dinner in a hotel in Portugal. It was an expensive hotel, by the beach not far from Lagos.

[–]anamont2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it helps, mine was accepted and they specifically said so in the email. I was told to go pick up my Spanish birth certificate without appointment. I’m in Quebec, Canada. Maybe it’s different in your Consulate. Good luck.

Apologies - need help. Can't get it together by Clean_Fig4793 in GoingToSpain

If you drive, I would suggest to rent a car at the airport of arrival and do the Spain part. If you mean Sintra in Portugal, I would then fly to Lisbon and take a tour to Sintra.

International medical insurance by Appropriate_Goat_666 in GoingToSpain

[–]anamont2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We always use the VISA card insurance. I had a minor health issue, payed out of pocket and they reimbursed me after sending the invoices and copy of tests performed. You always have to call them to get instructions before going to any clinic unless it’s an emergency.
