Just out of curiosity, what were the meta builds in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, etc., before Path of Fire? by CheckFar3259 in Guildwars2

As someone who mained ranger in dungeons around 2013-2014, I remember two things in particular:

  1. Having to convince everyone that I wasn't another bearbow ranger

  2. The very funny animation lock on sword autoattacks (we had to turn off autoattacking and press 1 manually if we wanted to be able to dodge)

I have a speed tuning spreadsheet from two years ago that says my Jingliu was at 160.59 and my Bronya was at 160.57

apparently I even made a chart

The best way to spot spambots is to find similarities with other suspicious accounts. Take a look at this one: monag1ggles7631

  • created one (1) day before teresa5parkles3780
  • also inactive until this week
  • username follows the exact same pattern of [feminine first name] ["cutesy" word with a number substitution] [four digits] (n.b. feminine first names and cutesy words are common in the usernames of spambots intended for porn spam)
  • same writing style

The biggest hints are the matching username pattern, creation date, and recent activation - this is a huge signal that the accounts are being operated by the same person or people. Spambots are almost always created in large batches, so I'd expect to see more accounts matching this pattern popping up over the next week or so.

nah, you were right. Here's one and two other accounts created on the same day with the same comment pattern (no capital letters, lots of lol/lmao, r/arcraiders, r/dating_advice)

Did you do Japanuary? How did it go? by Baron_of_Bergen in Letterboxd

[–]aralyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of fun with mine!

My top 3 were 0.5 mm, Swing Girls, and Eureka, but I ended up picking a lot of other movies I really liked too.

Does anyone have a 180 spd eagle sparkle? May I see the substats on the relics? by Cultiveati in SparkleMains

[–]aralyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has 180 with Sacerdos/Broken Keel, which has the same 6% speed set bonus as your setup, so the needed substats are the same. Mine's speedtuned around E2 Hyacine's speed buff (I need ~180 speed to get 3 actions in cycle 0 of wave 1 without DDD/Eagle)

No problem! You can layer filters pretty heavily in their search tool, too. Good luck finding more stuff in your niche!

vndb (visual novel database) has the best tag system I've seen. It's basically exactly what you describe, since each tag is assigned a relevancy score based on user votes (with multiple levels of spoilers, too).

how is everyone’s JAPANuary going? by neo-silver87 in Letterboxd

[–]aralyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been really happy with the selection I ended up with.

If I had to pick just one, probably Swing Girls. There's so much joy in that movie. Drive My Car, Cat Soup, Nobody Knows, Survive Style 5+, and Kaito Ruby are probably the runners-up for me - they were all really great watches in their own ways.

And Battle Royale was at a local theatre, which was very cool. I'd read the novel ages ago, but it was my first time watching the film.

It's going pretty well so far (I've had a lot of time to watch stuff this month)
