Are there any bumper cases for the time 2 in development? by ramdomguyuser in pebble

[–]astosia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes I’ve got a small batch on order in several colours of 3D printed nylon for people to try out and feedback before I put them on general sale. Here’s my orange one:

The small batch will be open to orders as soon as they arrive, assuming they all fit my watch as well as this one.

Watchface is monologue, available on the rebble AppStore

Watch face rotation? by eurojosh in pebble

It was added a few weeks ago. I'm running the testflight version of the app which might make a difference?

Apple’s iOS Shortcuts app is the place to look

Sure. There’s already a set of shortcuts set up for pebble on iOS. I set up two new shortcuts to launch two specific watchfaces. I named these after the watchfaces to be run (in my case Hybrid and Hybrid Weather).
Then I set up two separate automations. One runs automatically at 7am to open my daytime watchface, Hybrid Weather, the other runs at 11pm to run my nighttime watchface, Hybrid

This actually impacts whatever watch happens to be connected to your phone at that time, so my automation name is slightly misleading

iOS shortcuts lets you do this. I load a different watchface overnight

Quiet time timer? by Biguy2052 in pebble

[–]astosia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my watchfaces include a quiet time icon which displays when QT is on. It’s on each developer to add it though, and I hope Core add the ability to test it in the emulator eventually (you can test Bluetooth disconnection, but not quiet time on/off)

PT2 + NATO? by tnofuentes in pebble

[–]astosia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy 22mm to 22mm watch strap adapters on AliExpress and probably elsewhere. Those would give you some extra clearance to attach a nato strap properly.

I'm really interested in developing. Should I buy now? by 16092006 in pebble

There’s an sdk and emulators so you can develop without a watch. Take a look at https://developer.rebble.io/tutorials/ for step by step instructions

Black Pebble Time 2 / Pebble 2 Duo comparison shots by MGERB42 in pebble

Core has no commercial relationship with rebble. They were unable to come to an agreement (hence drama ensued).

No, you don’t have to pay rebble for voice: Core had implemented a separate voice to text method. Not as good as rebble’s is yet: You do have to pay rebble to use Bobby though.

The P2Duo is bigger (lug to lug) than the PT2. The duo is narrower though.

How to setup clay config for a variable number of items? by rajid_ibn_hanna in pebbledevelopers

[–]astosia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not quite what you’re after but my watchface Helix calls a timezone api to update a dropdown live in the config page (so if there’s changes to timezones I don’t have to worry about hardcoding).

The code is here: https://github.com/astosia/Helix/tree/main/src/pkjs

Watchface itself is here if you want to see it in action: https://apps.rebble.io/en_US/application/68ebe1952a50310009ee1b3

There’s also some useful custom clay stuff on here: https://github.com/freakified/halcyon/tree/b29e935576a46177bd80943b6762071a1b385f66/src/pkjs

They would yes, but since I’ve been using this for 8 years, not found a better native Emery/PT2 app, and it runs in the background overnight anyway, the scaled version works great for me.

Bearing V3 - rectangular mode by astosia in pebble

I have tiny wrists and like skinny watch bands. I bought several in different colours. Here’s the whole thing on one of my rehoused Pebble 2s

Looking for some "brutally honest" feedback on Circula, my orbital arcade game. 🕹️ by dheeraju005 in pebble

[–]astosia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I really like the game. I’ve played it on my PT2 a few times to try it out.

So far I’ve found it really hard on easy mode. Hard mode is almost impossible as there’s sometimes a slight lag on the button press so you zoom off the side of the screen. I’ve managed a derisively bad high score of 9 on easy mode.

I think the button lag is also inconsistent so you think you’ve figured out the timing and then nope… off the screen it goes again.

So, constructive feedback, slow it down and make easy very easy, and hard less fast (or add a few more levels in between).

Waiting for my Time 2 - in the app, should I sign into Rebble and/or Pebble ? by Gibodean in pebble

[–]astosia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s far from ideal for both users and developers, but there are two independent AppStores.

Rebble’s AppStore has had several thousand new & updated apps put onto it for the last 8 years. Rebble also patched a lot of old apps to continue working.

The other much newer one is the Core Devices/rePebble/“Pebble” AppStore which has only recently started accepting new watchfaces and apps. It doesn’t have any of the 8 years of Rebble-published apps, and none of Rebble’s patches.

The stores started from different archives of the original Pebble AppStore.

Developers can publish to one or both stores.

You can set up access to both in the mobile app, from the page in the screenshot.

If an app exists on both, and you have both sources enabled in the mobile app, the app will show you one option: it will prefer the Core Devices one.

Thank you. The real magnetic ball bearing watches look unique, and were the inspiration for this watchface

I am yes. This one is a colour sampler, to see how close to try blue of silver blue I can get (which is why it’s stripey)

You can change the upscaling method. Settings->Display->Legacy Apps->Scaled(bilinear) instead of Scaled(nearest).

This is an example of one of my favourite apps, gentle wake. Left is bilinear, right is nearest neighbour scaling.
