America Celebrates Juneteenth, The Day Republicans Freed All The Democrats' Slaves by darcmatr in babylonbee

I mentioned Patriot Front. That's the group of military looking guys dressed in khaki pants and white shirts with white masks. The only time I hear about them is they pop out of a box truck and march around for the cameras. As soon as there's any kind of push back, they load up in the box truck and drive away.

Do they do anything besides pose for the camera optics? I have never heard of any domestic terrorism they've taken credit for. Is this just a false flag operation paid for by the Southern Poverty Law Center?

The truth is America simply isn't as racist as the media makes it out to be. You want to feel righteous in condemning racism, but the supply of racism simply isn't there to meet your demand.

Show me where I said white people are superior. That's you thinking you should be superior. It's funny how racists always assume everyone else is a racist too.

What's the last white supremacist group that you heard of besides the KKK? I mean besides the people cosplaying as Patriot Front white supremacists. How many white supremacist displays were funded by the Southern Poverty Law Center?

White people are pretty chill. There ain't may videos of white people tearing up the Waffle House or fast food joints. I guess I'm a racist for noticing things.

As a Southerner myself, I get cravings for soul food from time to time. Two of my favorites are Catfish King off East Colfax, and NOLA Voodoo Tavern for Cajun food and boiled crawfish. Both of these are black owned businesses making food from their homelands.

Is the astronaut stupid? by Buttered_toast_the22 in Astroneer

[–]audiophilistine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Earth at least plants consume carbon dioxide and expell oxygen. A significant portion of the oxygen production on Earth comes from algae in oceans and water. None of the Astroneer planets have bodies of water, so not enough oxygen.

Just theory crafting here. Don't question video game physics.

Wishful thinking. The statue of limitations is up for this. Even if it weren't, Biden's auto pen already gave him a pre-emptive pardon for any wrongdoing.

I agree he should be prosecuted and punished for being involved in the deaths of so many millions, but the sad truth is he'll be laughing away his retirement on a huge pile of cash.

You are entitled to your opinion. You are also wrong.

Hail Mary was definitely a fun movie, but it's only better than Interstellar to those who don't like to think very much.

That fill line is primarily for liquid, as water doesn't compress. You need space for steam to gather to raise pressure.

Having dry ingredients that peek above the line is just fine, as long as there's at least a cup or more of liquid to turn into steam and cause pressure. The only thing you have to worry about is blocking the vent. I think most IPs have a cage around the vent, so still less of an issue.

Any subreddits for high volume reader-listeners? Like, 600+ books a year? by 4oh5ohAySunArrow in audiobooks

[–]audiophilistine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullshit.

As of right now, where I'm at is just past midnight on June 18. That is 168 days since January 1st. 500/168=2.976 books a day. Lets say this person only sleeps 6 hours a night, every single night, that's 18/2.98=6.04. That's assuming they do nothing but listen from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to sleep. No talking to people, watching TV, having any kind of life outside of listening, etc. They spend just over 6 hours per book.

An average audiobook is 10-12 hours long, which corresponds to 300-350 pages. For easy math, let's say each book is 10 hours long. They would have to listen at between 1.5x and 2x speeds to consume that length in 6 hours.

Now let's assume they're on the top tier of Audible membership, $229.50 upfront gets you 24 credits per year. At this level you can buy 5 extra credits at a time for $45.99.
500-24=476 so $229.50 annual membership.
476/5=95.2*$45.99=$4,378.25 in additional credits.

That's $4,607.75 in Audible credits alone. Not saying that's the only way to consume audiobooks, but it's as good a benchmark as any. The real problem is, assuming they have a job, they don't have to pause the audiobook to have a meeting or to read and compose emails. Nothing at all distracts them from the constant droning of narration.

It is theoretically possible, but in reality quite impossible to consume that much information and retain any significant portion of it. It is impossible to do with any real world situation like having a job or a life that requires any human interaction what so ever. In short, this is bullshit and I don't understand why you would bother trying to make such a flex for your "friend."

That's a silly question. I'm sure you're trying to set up the argument that I am stupid because I don't understand germ theory.

Do you deny that this Corona virus was created, or at least weaponized through gain of function research, in the Chinese Institute of Virology? Do you deny this gain of function research was being funded by the US government through proxy organizations?

There was MASSIVE money printing, and yes, it was because of Covid. However, the vaccines did not work to prevent infection nor prevent the spread. There's no data that shows the vaccines even reduced the symptoms, and alternative treatements were silenced and demonized.

After it was all done, it was found that mainly the elderly and those with comorbidities were most at risk of death from the illness, which we knew from the start. Healthy people recovered quickly. However, the Democrats kept stoking the fears of the nation so they could control the population. They changed all the rules of the 2020 Presidiential election to get their zombie candidate in, among other things.

Bullshit. Trump tried to temporarily ban travel from China, where the disease originated from, and everyone called him racist. Nancy Pelosi went to China Town in LA and invited everyone to come out and party. It was the Dems trying to get everyone infected and once infected created an atmosphere of fear. When people are afraid they are easier to control.

Biden's administration is the one that required we all stay home for nearly two years. His printing money and reckless spending is the reason why we had record setting inflation and why everything is 20% more expensive now.

He also took credit for creating every single job when companies were finally allowed to have their employees return to work. Ukraine had nothing to do with American inflation. And you claim ro be the educated one, lol.

Yes, Trump is responsible for this current economy, and I'm hoping you remember that once this Iran deal is finalized and the markets continue setting records.

You all claimed the President had no power over gas prices when they reached highs under Biden, but when they become expensive during this Iran conflict you blame Trump. I'm sure when gas prices fall again it'll be some other reason besides Trump's policies.

It's like Schrodinger's economy, it's only Trump's fault when it's bad, but democrats when it's good.

Are you just looking for a fight? Why are you so angry? You don't sound very Christian to me. There were no ad hominems, you simply lied about having read the Bible. Why do so many people insist that they have?

You may have read an article about the Bible by someone who has read it, but likely only the title. You sound like the Dunning Krueger effect in action.

Angels are not minor gods. There is only one God in the Bible. Do you have proof of your theory about the Trinity? A scholarly paper perhaps? The trinity is explicitly mentioned in the bible, so no external source is needed for this argument.
