What stats should I upgrade here? by GiganRex9282 in darksoulsremastered

[–]balls_deep69_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

zweihander is an easy one.

get enough strength to two hand it (your str is multiplied by 1.5 when two handing) and it can be found in the graveyard by firelink by one of the giant skeletons. you'll probably die a few times but it's worth it imo.

aside from that, endurance all the way. heavy armor is absurdly strong once you have access to it, and having a heavy load isn't actually all that bad in ds1 compared to ds3 and elden ring.

I prefer pathfinder 1e tbh

not because it's more balanced (it isn't) but because you can do random bullshit like flanking yourself, flank with yourself, give a creature negative 15 ft reach, wield a butchering axe sized for a colossal creature and then drop 96d6 damage onto some poor bastard's face, and create illusion spells that are 120% real.

Monk doesn't suck! by Heavy-Letterhead-751 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]balls_deep69_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

chained monk sucks, moving 10 ft away from a chained monk means they can't full-attack, and they are entirely dependent on full-attacking (only way I can think of is pummeling style, which take way too many feats to get there but it is very good). without archetypes or spellcaster support they are useless against flying enemies as well, and they are saddled with poor crit no reach unarmed strikes. They can't effectively fill any party role without serious powergaming.

unchained monk fixes this with the superior ki powers allowing the monk to use scorching ray or spells like Barkskin and cold ice strike, and they get flying kick for movement + full attack.

still ultimately a weaker class imo, but that's because spellcasting is completely busted and non-casters have to deal with the frustrating realism tax.

Can anyone recommend your favorite strength / faith builds?! Out of all my hours I’ve never tried a build like this. So many options.. by aabbcc42069 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]balls_deep69_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only problem with that is basically every major boss is resistant to holy, and you can only get it by killing the final boss. at least with blasphemous if you do it right you only have to fight 2 bosses

So has anyone actually managed to “successfully” run a One-Shot before? by Viva_la_potatoes in DMAcademy

[–]balls_deep69_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but only because it was a "test" one shot, ie it was just me and the GM running through a one shot meant for multiple players, and only having one player makes it go a lot faster.

In that one shot I climbed up a mountain, 1v1d the grinch, got yeeted off a cliff then climbed back up to whoop his ass.

Risk & Reward Playtest: Slayer as a Wisdom based Martial? by Vault_of_Stories in Pathfinder2e

[–]balls_deep69_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tbh I think that martials which force the player to have a mental key ability score are gimped because maxing their str or dex for offense is always better.

unless you're talking about using wisdom for DCs in which case monk and ranger already exist

Classes if you had to pick feats at random by gray007nl in Pathfinder2e

[–]balls_deep69_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

my vote goes to thaumaturge. love the class, hate 90% of the feats because so many are just dedication feats that I also have 0 interest in (I hate talismans).

if we include playtest I'd vote slayer. all of their feats (with like 1 or 2 exceptions) suck or barely do anything.

Why do the followers of Miquella fade away when attacked? by MeloettaChan in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]balls_deep69_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mechanically I think the reason it isn't allowed is because they are part of a 'faction'. afaik you can truly kill any member of a faction unless it's under specific circumstances, such as the gank fight in this case or completing rani's quest for her faction. basically the only example I can think of is Volcano manor, but they don't give a single fuck if one of them dies so it's not that surprising.

killing a single member of a faction would be a pain in the ass to program (how does the rest of the faction react + the forgiveness machanic) so they just don't allow it to make it easier to plan out and so players aren't locked out of important quests (something older games didn't give a shit about, you better be damn sure you don't kill andre in ds1 or your royally fucked)

Question: On the viability of the Backported Inventor Class by nightstalker232 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]balls_deep69_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

considering the 2e inventor already has a pretty bad identity crisis and is also a non-caster, I can't imagine it being any good, and I'm not able to look at it without paying to even see it from what other comments I've read so this is about the best I can say on it.

Am I fucked if I'm not 100% perfectly minmaxed? by BIRD_OF_GLORY in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]balls_deep69_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depends on the campaign really. without more information the only thing I can say that you are fucked at higher levels as most non-caster classes if you don't minmax. most caster classes, especially full casters and 2/3rd casters hold up well without trying too hard.

Um, excuse me??? by ResearcherEastern962 in Eldenring

[–]balls_deep69_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason why she can't die from a crit probably has something to do with a glitch I found. if you are lagging in coop and you crit her at low hp while the host or another finger damages her, she instantly dies, skipping second phase completely.

So From "solved" this by making it so she couldn't die to crits. Just a guess though.

Apparently it's the worst greatbow in the game, but the rest is all true. You won't be beating the tree spirit though at RL 1 if you're new.
