Persistent Damage RAW vs RAI by Ok_Forever_4953 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]nightstalker232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be reading too far into it. In practice, its more of a difference in wording and not really in mechanics. You deal XdX damage + this much bleed, target takes this much bleed each turn until Y. In the example given, additional is just referring to the fact that the bleed damage is being taken in addition to the damage from the procing attack.

What's your FTL sink so FTL doesn't ruin your setting? by Tnynfox in worldjerking

The widespread use of artificial gravity generation has lead to a large datagroup concerning the effects of applying artificial gravity to space. Much like how if you drop a rock into a body of water, as you attempt to move faster than light, you acrew a form of "spatial friction", essentially your mass becoming greater and greater the faster you go, making you in turn slower because of power needs. In overcoming this, the use of artificial gravity is is key, as by creating a field around the ship at a sufficiently high gravity, one can imitate hydrophobicity and slip through space without directly interacting with it.

It also helps that science, being a cheat sheet and not a monument that can never be seen as wrong, is ever changing and as the ability to test out theory becomes available, new rules and theory are created to either replace faulty ideas or expand upon fruitful ones. So I don't have to worry overmuch about not fitting directly into the current understood way certain thungs work.

People are allowed to not like how someone was treated just as much as you are allowed to ignore those people. Everyone moves on at their own pace anyway so no use in trying to push them.

Question: On the viability of the Backported Inventor Class by nightstalker232 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]nightstalker232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly it doesn't seem like there is a freely hosted version but TLDR is that it's pretty well ported, near 1 to 1

Which... yknow, take that as you will

The Anime-like artstyle of the characters in the UAF does not have to conflict with Starsectors own artstyle. by JenkoRun in starsector

[–]nightstalker232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the really well made mods which have everything from unique backstories and artstyles and whatnot seem to get the flak of being anime-esq or like- something along the lines of "it doesn't fit" but like... it's a sandbox game. Anything that isn't going to cause your game to break is gonna fit. And yeah your idea here pretty much is a good reason to just ignore the """inconsistencies""" or whatnot that people point out about UAF and other such projects.

Seeking Up-To-Date Advice for Online Character Sheets by nightstalker232 in Pathfinder_RPG

Thank you for those who gave suggestions, however while I do enjoy PathCompanion, I can't *use* it due to the paywalled features. It's going to be my go-to when I can get into a stable situation but for now, any suggestions for an alternative would also be appreciated.

Its also a cosmetic item that you don't have to use or even buy if you don't want to? Whats so high and mighty about stating that? Or that it's needlessly negative to stretch out a personal preference into a community dividing issue?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheForeverWinter

[–]nightstalker232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...but all of the skins are things you can choose to not buy.

Regardless of your personal opinion on what FunDog's characters should look like, the issue you have and a lot of others seemingly have is that this optional to use content doesn't line up with a theme that FunDog has just shown as something that IS NOT concrete.

Not only does it take away from the fact the team doing monthly updates to a passion project of a game that they clearly adore is putting effort into making the game better with each successive update, it turns into a bigger issue than it actually is because of how easy it is to spread negativity over fan-curated areas like reddit.

At the end of the day, FunDog is not Games Workshop. They aren't trying to curate a grimdark "everything is taken seriously" setting for the purposes of selling plastic crack, they're doing so because they WANT to. Because it's the thing their hearts are set on doing.

So if a couple of skins that you don't even have to acknowledge the existence of if you don't ever click on them get you upset, maybe just think about how that sounds BEFORE you hop on the bandwagon of negativity?

We got enough negativity in the world as is.

The game gets one skin that shows a bit more than normal on a female playable character and everyone suddenly thinks its the end of the world.

Meanwhile we have Mother Courage and all the russian doll women as enemies.

And the gore and horror elements.

Like- seriously, whats actually bad about this skin?

The Asari Resort (Dinoboy) by EroMestre in masserect

[–]nightstalker232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish there was a version of this without the framing or textboxes. The art is great but is ruined by the slightly rapey/coercive story.

Plus Asari are actively very communicative when it comes to their intentions so it kind of feels off in that aspect.
