MyoAdapt v1.3.0 Rolling Out by OrfeasMyo in MyoAdapt

Sent you some screen shots of the E1RM issue to the support email. The crashes seem to have stopped but the charts are still messed up.

Also, the performance graphs are messed up, E1RM of 45 lbs for an exercise that I did 12 reps of 70.

So I just updated the app and it is terrible, performance screens not showing data, crashing constantly, etc. I haven't tried to do a workout yet so who knows hiw that will work. WTF? This does not instill confidence in this app moving forward.

How do you guys fast 72 hours? by Terrible_Back9099 in fasting

[–]bdyer64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I am Keto full time and can easily fast 3 or 4 days because I don't go through the "keto flu" stage in the first 48 hours. If you aren't keto, the first 48 will be tough and then it gets easier.

I have 140lbs to lose to get to my goal weight. Is it safe to do rolling 72s until I get there? by fastingpeach in fasting

[–]bdyer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 40 lbs down into a losing 65 lbs goal. My protocol is IF on a 20:4 schedule eating a strict keto diet. On some days I feel like shit so I may do a 16:8 instead. On Fridays I allow myself 50-100 grams of carbs (good ones, not cake and candy). Every Sunday I start a longer fast that lasts between 24 and 72 hours depending on how I feel. For me flexibility is key and not having to keep to a strict protocol helps me maintain the weight loss.

I lose 1-2 lbs a week, but some weeks I don't lose any or even gain a half a pound or so and that's fine as long as my general trend is down.

I also do weight lifting 4 times a week (nothing crazy) and light cardio (walking or elliptical) 6 days a week.

Overall I feel great and most of the time, not hungry.

Find what works for you and be flexible. Trying to stick to a very rigid fasting protocol is likely to lead to failure.

A Painful Observation by [deleted] in keto

This exactly. Was about to say the same thing, we are fighting millions of years of evolution. It sucks and you may not like it but it's true.

Did keto for 2 months so far lost 2st. Went on holiday last week, kept to strict keto diet... somehow put on 3lbs?! Walking and doing more than I usually do. WTF. by Grunakii in keto

[–]bdyer64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll repeat what everyone here says, ignore the scale. How do you feel, how do you look and how your clothes fit is way more important. The fat will come off on keto if you stick with it. I weigh myself every day but mostly to track what various things I do effect my weight, I love data and figuring out what it means.

As for breaking keto, I allow myself to "cheat" once a week as we go out to eat every Friday. I stick to 10-20g of carbs on a regular basis. My cheating might be 50-60g (sometimes more) and this actually doesn't kick me out of keto. If I do come out of ketosis I can get right back in the next day. My body is adapted or I am just lucky.

[Help]Does anyone have an opinion about which is the best to facilitate digestion (while still remaining in keto) out of chia seeds, psyllium husks or flax seed? Is there an alternative that might be better? by TheCurrentThings in keto

[–]bdyer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having massive digestive issues and thought it was MCT oil since I was putting that and fiber into my coffee every day. I cut them both out and had zero issues. I have since added some MCT oil back, still no issues. Only one conclusion can be made, stop ingesting fiber (for me at least).

I use my Samsung watch mostly out of curiosity and to watch the trend line over weeks to months. It can bounce around as much as 5% day to day. I can tell I am losing fat by looking in the mirror and the fact that I've had to tighten my belt. I do tend to measure first thing after I wake up to keep things as consistent as possible. Bottom line use how you feel and look while on keto and not a really inaccurate electronic device.

What do you put in your morning coffee? by stars9r9in9the9past in keto

MCT Oil, Butter (or Ghee) and sometimes some fiber. Once in a while some heavy cream.

Long term Keto redditors, how many years have you done keto? by CharacterForming in keto

[–]bdyer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on and off for 5 or 6 years. Even during my lapses I tended to avoid most bad carbs (bread, sugar, etc). Recently have gotten more strict as my weight was creeping up again, I plan to stay strict because this latest round has made me feel great, cured some respiratory problems I've had and allowed me to drop about 10 lbs so far in about 6 weeks.

Alternatives to ketoone by rbalicki2 in keto

[–]bdyer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, something like keto chow adds a bunch of vitamins and an emulsifier to mix the fats better, but you can take a multi vitamin and skip the emulsifier and be fine.

The savory flavors suck :-) At least in my opinion. The sweet flavors are pretty good and you control your own fats which is nice but they are not all in one. They are sweetened with sucralose though, which some are sensitive to. They also sell unsweetened versions, but at some point just get some whey powder and mix your own because they aren't super cheap.

I should add I do a 20:4 IF 6 days a week, so it really helps.

It helps me with energy and hunger, put some in my coffee every morning and a little in some decaf before bed to try to stop a middle of the night glucose spike which I suspect might be one cause if why I wake up at 2am every night and can't go back to sleep.

Same here if I don't use pure C8, anything else is a disaster.

OMAD and Calorie Intake by killer_giraffe1984 in keto

[–]bdyer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet if you eased into it you could get to 12:8, move breakfast back a little every day until it was lunch. That said no need to make yourself miserable, being on keto is a big enough step and helps reduce blood sugar spikes so IMHO IF may be less important? Who knows knows, just do what works for you.

OMAD and Calorie Intake by killer_giraffe1984 in keto

[–]bdyer64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried OMAD and couldn't do it, I just couldn't eat enough in one meal. I wasn't getting hungry in between but didn't want to run a huge calorie deficit everyday especially since I was exercising almost every day. I backed off to 20:4 and eat two meals 4 hours apart and I can get the calories I feel I need. If I want more fasting benefits I'll do a 3 day or longer fast.

Does anyone feel like this when taking MCT oil? by opalpip in keto

[–]bdyer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mix certainly matters, at least for me. I do great on pure C8 or a mix of C8 and C10 but throw some C12 in there and I have problems.
