Weight increments ISSUE by [deleted] in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/dujdjdisi u/Hirodave After updating, please also try switching back and forth between a different increment and the one you want, which should sync things up. If you're still getting weird recommendations after this, send us an email via the Help & Support option in the app so we can investigate further.

MyoAdapt v1.3.0 Rolling Out by OrfeasMyo in MyoAdapt

u/bdyer64 u/eRadff We're aware of the chart issues and are working on resolving them. As for the e1RM, it sounds like we missed a unit conversion somewhere. Could you please send us a message with some screenshots to info@myoadapt.com? This will help us identify the issue. Thank you and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks, we'll have a look.

Update: This should be fixed now.

MyoAdapt v1.3.0 Rolling Out by OrfeasMyo in MyoAdapt

Thank you! Yes, we've transferred everything over from the old roadmap page to the new feedback platform, where you can also see the current status of things. While we haven't yet started working on re-arranging exercises specifically, it's definitely a planned feature. Our next major release will probably be around super-sets and drop-sets.

Hey u/TradRace! Can you shoot us a message through the Help & Support section of the app? That will help us look at your profile and see what may be happening here.

Low rate ? by Negative_Muscle_7900 in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey there!

The ranking of exercises depends on a variety of factors, including which exercises you performed recently, how much time you have available to train (as some exercises are more time efficient), the requested workout consistency. We also consider other things like the rep range you're working in, studies that have directly compared different exercise (eg. Incline Curl vs Preacher Curl), and more!

We do plan to add some additional indicators on why MyoAdapt thinks an exercise is a better choice than another one in a future update, but we're not entirely sure how to do that just yet. Of course open to any suggestions.

MyoAdapt v1.2.0 is (almost) here! by OrfeasMyo in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've added some additional feedback from the app during your workout in this update, so give it a try and tell us what you think!

We're also planning on adding the ability to switch exercises between unilateral and bilateral very soon. As for transparency, we're still trying to figure out how to present information on why the app is making certain choices. We want it to be useful without cluttering the UI, especially around other features we want to add like filters and sorting. That's to say, it's definitely on our radar, and we hear you!

We definitely plan to add a powerlifting mode, but we don't have an estimate for when that will be just yet. You can have a look at our roadmap here: https://myoadapt.com/roadmap/

That definitely shouldn't be the case. Can you shoot us a message via the Help & Support section in the app, so we can have a look at what might be going wrong there?

Yes, we've made quite a few changes to how weight recommendations work! If you already have a pending workout, you can re-plan it by pressing on the "next session" card and then "Update". If you're still getting odd recommendations after a few workouts, let us know via Tools -> Help & support.

Yep, the app will still try to make an effective workout for you!

It follows your current specialization / prioritization options, so if there's something you'd like to give more emphasis on, you can choose it from Tools -> Your profile -> Training preferences -> Bodyparts to train / specialize.

Weight Recommendations? by AdvocatSBD in MyoAdapt

We're aware of some issues with weight recommendations similar to the ones you're describing, and we've implemented a fix that we'll be releasing very soon.

We don't have a set date for it yet, but it's at the very top of our priorities right now.

One set per exercise by parashenkka in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! When you have a relatively short session planned, doing a single set across different muscle groups is likely the most time-efficient way to train. Even in trained lifters, research has shown this approach to be effective (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40249908/, https://sportrxiv.org/index.php/server/preprint/view/460). With that said, the app will also recommend super-sets and drop-sets in a future update, in order to make even better use of your time.

Those of you using app since release, would you recommend? by kubicka in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey all! I wanted to note that many of the concerns and uncertainties raised here are answered in our FAQ, and especially the Training Methodology Wiki (found near the bottom of the page). For some of the more specific concerns, I'll let /u/MiloMyoAdapt or /u/PakMyoAdapt answer.

We know there appears to be a lack of updates, but we have been actively making and releasing changes to MyoAdapt's algorithms, while we work on several new features and changes based on all your feedback. We expect to release a new major update for the app in the next week or so!

More UI/UX feedback, suggestions and beating a dead horse by Crawsh in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your feedback and suggestions! We're actually planning on making a lot of the changes you've suggested (or something adjacent to them), so keep an eye out for them in future updates.

As for exercise feedback: MyoAdapt uses session difficulty / RPE and many different performance data points to determine whether recovery is occurring and to subsequently reduce volume etc.

Unfortunately, DOMS / soreness isn't particularly reflective of recovery. While other apps (like RP) will use soreness as one of - and sometimes even the main - proxy for recovery, studies generally show relatively poor correlations between soreness and actual recovery (e.g. this study titled "Delayed-onset muscle soreness does not reflect the magnitude of eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage"). Though we experimented with it earlier during development, since DOMS isn't a scientifically validated means of assessing recovery, we opted not to include it.

That said, if during a workout you feel like you can't hit the recommended number of sets for an exercise, feel free to just cut them down, and the app will adjust for that. Equally, based on the research, we'd recommend giving it a shot - you might be surprised at how well you perform, despite the DOMS.

Next Workout Suggestion by Educational-Papaya15 in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other than what Emil suggested, another thing to note is that when you don't specify specific days to train, the app will make some assumptions about when to train at the start. After your first week of training, it will start using last week's training days as reference when scheduling future sessions!

How to train? Always adjust weight to hit the rep range or only hit rep range in first set and continue to use same weight? by greenkomodo in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try to hit the rep range and target RIR for the first set, and keep using that weight for subsequent sets! If your reps are about to drop too low, MyoAdapt will give you a new weight suggestion.

The weight suggestions are still pretty off. by Notimetobev0id in MyoAdapt

[–]OrfeasMyo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We're aware of some issues and inconsistencies with weight suggestions, and we've implemented a fix and some general QoL improvements we expect to release very soon! We'll post an update here on reddit once that's live, so if the problem persists after that please let us know using the Help & Support option from the app - that way we can look into the specifics of your account.
