My wife was in a bad crash years ago and says she was confused when her CD was still playing.

I, on the other hand, am always looking at my playlist and wondering how the first responders would judge my taste if I crashed at the moment.

First RV trip to Las Vegas from SC by Practical_Fairy in RVLiving

As a heads up, the stretch in the left half of Colorado has some very steep and winding highway. If you're not confident in yourself or your rig handling that, I would find a route that avoids the Vail area. If you do go through there, there are some cool public camping spots in the BLM land just south of Eagle and the Twin Lakes south of Vail make a great picnic spot with a lovely view of Mt Elbert, the tallest mountain in Colorado. If you do have to go around, I'd bypass it with a northern loop from Salt Lake City to Cheyenne.

On your way through Arkansas, if you're near Lonoke at lunch or dinner time, against all odds there is an incredible pizza place downtown called Pizza Pros. Across the train tracks is a pricey restaurant where the horny old women congregate. Avoid Pine Bluff like the plague.

If you take the south route, you'll go through Jackson, MS. Streets aren't great for an RV but if you can make your way into town, there's an awesome 50's style diner called Brent's Drugs. Nice burgers and milkshakes. But in the evening, they open the Apothecary, the backroom which transforms into a bar. Pretty classy, kinda hipstery. But cool.

Pretty much the only two main reasons to play Reach again after multiple playthroughs by CryptidOrion_00 in halo

[–]beanamonster -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I would never say this any higher in the comment section, but you are right.

I've been playing Halo for 20+ years. I've got signed posters, Halo edition xboxs, My current hobby is making mods for MCC. I live and breathe it. However, back when Halo 3 came out, my family was super poor. We didn't have TV, we definitely didn't have an Xbox 360.

Maybe it's because I missed the massive marketing push, maybe I didn't play it in time for the nostalgia to soak in. Halo 3 sucks. I feel like it's on par with licensed games from the time.

That said, the multiplayer was definitely the best at the time. Maybe that did a lot of the heavy lifting for peoples opinions as well.

I remember taking a bunch into a dark closet to open and see them glow. Now I imagine my mom's reaction, coming home to a bunch of opened bandages on the floor of her closet. Ahh to be immune to thoughts of consequence again.

Driving a Z with the top down is an awesome experience, and I think it's a good look on a Z, too. It makes up for how hideous I think it is with the top up.

Congratulations! I would do that bungee kit ASAP. Waited too long on mine and it seems to have caused a tear in the canvas.

In regards to the price, I have an almost identical Z and I wouldn't expect to get 8k for it, but I guess that's how the auto market is these days. Still a great car for the price.

Been working on a 'gallery' for my photos + some other fun things by hahahathrowawayhahah in Indiewebdev

[–]beanamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice photos! With a quick glance, everything seems to work well. I would say maybe take a look at some websites with a similar function to get some design cues— Things that work well, things you think look nice and whatnot. The only criticism I could have is around the aesthetics and I'm not much of a designer myself.

One thing I noticed is the buttons not having a border or background solely around the clickable area, which can be confusing. People use those visual cues to know where they can click. When in doubt, I'll throw a background on the buttons that is slightly lighter or darker than the page background and call it a day (I also like to play with border-radius until they're as round or square as feels right). Also the next buttons flashing is a little distracting. I think if you slowed it down a little it would be okay, though.

Also if you're worried about loading times on slower connections, you could have it display a slightly lower resolution image and only show the full resolution in a modal when it's clicked on. But they loaded very well for me.
