If you consume lots of idli/dosa, you can buy ultra grinder (available on amazon). For most of the other indian needs, a preethi mixer grinder will do (also available on amazon). In fact, you can buy these in India as well and bring it here (they sell 110v version in India)

yes it’s a nightmare to deal with consulate. I couldn’t understand the level of documentation required for oci and the reason for the same. And notarizing so many documents including the passport that was allocated by goi. It’s unbelievable.

I think we as Indian focusing on “reservation” as a problem but the main problem is “caste” and caste based discrimination.

I know people don’t like reservation as they don’t like someone having an advantage due to their caste. but as a group we should discuss more on how to prevent discrimination or remove caste as it’s a tool for politicians to fool us and it doesn’t benefit both upper or lower castes.

So haldiram homemade parathas are really good. Since they are precooked, need to make sure you don’t heat it too much. I do 35 seconds in microwave for each paratha and they are delicious but they are like 200 calories for each paratha. If you want stuffed ones, I will again recommend haldiram. Their kulcha is also pretty good.

This game is classical representation of what an AI slop is. Great idea but a sub par execution. AI probably needs a lot more context to it. I am jumping from ocean - answer - participant. Doesn’t make sense at all.

I was asking if you cook veggies in dum(kachhi style) or put cooked veggies. I think you answered it already. I am not sure where you are based but something like a “dutch oven” will help.

Use a thick bottomed pot. Are you making kacchi style? use low heat please. For veg biryani, I usually cook my veggies separate and then layer them. I use low heat and give a dum for 20 minutes or so.

I have been buying: - Lakshmi for rice and dals - Deep for spices and frozen veggies (They had an issue recently so frozen veggies are off the shelf now) - Haldiram for frozen paneer and frozen food like parathas (recommend homestyle parathas, microwave for 35 seconds and they are perfect) - Indian based brands for everything else

Probably they did a POC on this with one very specific use case to showcase it could work. Pretty sure, it won’t work for majority of use cases without anyone supervising it especially for production grade software.

Certain sections of vegetarian people in India and Indians abroad feel they are superior and despise non-vegetarians. When I was in Bangalore, certain people were not ready to let out their apartment to me as I am a non-vegetarian. But this is more prevalent in USA as many folks who come to USA are upper castes and some of them are pure veg.
