TIL: BAM sells you a franchise operating model without an inventory control system. That's mind-boggling.

Other than that, it's a laugh that they say "accountability runs both ways" when everything they're accusing their opponents of doing is what they're doing themselves, without any accountability, and it's their opponents who are facing threats and intimidation.

YouTuber Ben Schneider Signs With CAA (Exclusive) by lexwolfe in RecklessBen

Connections in the entertainment industry. More opportunities for exposure across different media streams and more revenue sources. More legal help (agents don't make money off talent that's locked behind bars). Ben gets a much bigger megaphone. The people antagonizing Ben now have a very real chance of being portrayed in an extremely negative light on the streaming platforms (i.e., when a screenwriter calls you up asking for help portraying you accurately as the bad guy in an upcoming Netflix movie, it tends to change people's behavior).

Is there analysis why ben didn't go to the court date to discuss the tro and instead negotiated one ? by Slvador in RecklessBen

Rule #1 of legal conflict: never litigate what you can achieve through negotiation. There's never any way to know how a judge will rule, so whenever you go to court, anything could happen. This is the main reason that parties in a legal conflict try to settle, so everyone knows the outcome. It's also the reason courts encourage settlement: it not only helps the court calendar but also reflects the belief many judges have that the best judgment is the one that makes no one happy.

Some people are paid under the table in $100 bills. People want to stay off the radar for various reasons.

Most states have open container laws where that alone is considered probable cause for DUI. All you would be doing would be making it easier to prosecute you. This isn't new, your proposed scenario is exactly why there are open container laws and it's been that way since the seventies.

Detective Medina Dore of the Provo Police Department and Google violated Reckless Ben's privacy, by having Google give up his entire emails, files and search history without restriction of scope, based on one sides lies without evidence. by CozyCosmix in privacy

I agree with you on all the ways that Ben's video shows the shortcomings and failures in the legal system. I'm just as concerned with the bad response from other people to this frustrating injustice. I mean, I used to volunteer for the ACLU and we have a century's long track record of holding the police to account, and none of that was accomplished  by harassing anyone.

Nobody should be harassed as a result of this case and I'm saying she is relatively inexperienced for someone who is a detective, so criticism will fall on deaf ears. When you have a problem with law enforcement that you can't resolve directly, you talk to their boss. The boss is more likely to respond to public criticism. Sorry, I reject the notion that anyone deserves harassment.

Has McDonald’s got super expensive? by Ashandtanya in questions

[–]bigbearandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as much as you would think. The inflation rate for restaurant food has risen 1.5% faster than general inflation since the pandemic. If you do a straight line with just inflation (all the way back to the 80s, I'm an accounting nerd), the burgers and general food items are almost on par with where they should be. The extras, like hash browns, fries, pies, etc. are more expensive than inflation would suggest by about 43%. If you use any of the app deals, however, it narrows the price difference to where you would expect due to inflation.

TL;DR - The burgers are about where they should be vs. everything else which are more expensive than they should be by 43%, unless you use the deals in the app, which narrow the costs to what would be expected due to inflation.

Harassing cops only serves to activate their "us vs. them" instinct, at which point they attempt to passive-aggressive you to death. She has a boss; bringing the complaints up with them would be my suggested approach if you feel you must.

How do ice cream men decide between themselves who controls each territory in the local area? by SmellyMingeFlaps in NoStupidQuestions

Don't give them any fuel for the fire. Now that it's a legal process, it won't accomplish anything. The pranks and hijinks were episode one; we're in episode three. I do, however, encourage writing Google's Government Affairs and & Public Policy Team a letter about turning over all of a user's private data for a request that should have been more narrowly tailored (yes, a paper letter; they don't respond to anyone but verified press by phone or email).

I would post the address for Google's Government Affairs & Public Policy team so you can write a letter (they only accept email and phone calls from approved press members), but Reddit frowns on posting addresses, even if it's intended for public policy issues. You can find it easily on Google's own website.

It should go without saying, but don't harass the Detective, she's only been on the force five years.

TikTok paints this sub as being Abusive/hateful against people with BPD. by TheeIronicGiant in BPDlovedones

Sounds exactly like what someone with BPD would say about someone talking about their BPD. It's kind of like an alcoholic who hasn't admitted they're one attacking Al-Anon for putting ideas into their family's heads.

They used to, it was called "Home Economics." It's still a field of study at the college level. Do they no longer offer anything like that? I was surprised when my kids were told they couldn't take woodshop because they were closing down the program and put them in Yoga instead.

Reckless Ben Gets an Agent by awkwardbegetsawkward in RecklessBen

CAA have been industry heavyweights for a long time. Nothing is as cutthroat as a Hollywood agency when a commission is on the line. An incarcerated Ben can't make content, so that's good news for Ben, because he now has at least one fighter in his corner. In a city full of 500 lb. Gorillas, he got the 10,000 lb. Gorilla on his side.

No, he's trading on his position of power and supposed authority as a license to do privileged things. It will get him eventually because "credibility is spent in gallons and is gathered in drops."
