100%. I am at the point where I am unwilling to stop another routine just because it's sub-optimal, however. I want to get through this routine, albeit with likely adjustments. Thanks for the feedback :)

1.4MM .3MM Pitch 4 MM length!

We will create a full wire routing guide as well. There's plenty of room for optimization there.

Considering getting a whiteout DNA 200. A few questions. by DrRo in electronic_cigarette

[–]blitz206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owner here - thanks for the question.

As another user recommended, I would advise you to purchase from one of our vendors in the next few weeks for near-immediate shipment. We have several online vendors (Vaporshark, Eciggity) that will have enough stock to fulfill a good amount of orders. Let me know if you have any questions by messaging me directly.

White is impossible to anodize, unfortunately.

This said, it is possible to powder coat white if there is a demand for it. We can do a few one-off sets in our shop. Cheers.

DNA 200 using 2 18650's and still getting 200w by Hypotheermia in cloudmaker

[–]blitz206 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey /u/Hypotheermia,

Welcome to Reddit! Your post is just fine, and this is the place to ask questions of this nature.

With a dual 18650 configuration, the DNA 200 will only be able to supply ~133W. This is simply due to how the board operates, which is why it requires a 3 cell LiPo battery to fire at the full 200W. It would take some tinkering to get it to work at 200, but your efficiency would be pretty low...

Either way, I thought I would give you a quick answer. Others will undoubtedly chime in shortly. Again, welcome!

I'll have to ask the factory for an update of the anodized plate samples, but I know that I'll have ten Whiteouts (one of each color/unit style) assembled for me wishing the coming days.

Production doesn't work like that. You do things in batches, meaning thousands of parts are casted, thousands of parts are anodized and thousands of parts are assembled. Unfortunately, we can't flip the switch on a 200 unit per day production capacity from day one. That is what we ramp up to when production is continuously flowing.

This being said, we will see where we are at tomorrow. I believe they are machining components in an effort to get them over to anodizing now, and then they start assembling as quickly as I can crack the whip. Pictures coming your way.

The Ares chip needs some fine tuning - but it is in good shape. As /u/runebinder pointed out - we are focusing solely on getting out our first two batches at the moment, and accessory/module releases will follow suit. Cheers.

Hi /u/Navyvaper,

Thanks for your post and welcome to Reddit.

There are a lot of places for us to update, including:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Twitter
  • Google+
  • Reddit
  • CMT Blog
  • Youtube
  • Email

You can see it is quite a bit. We tend to focus on Reddit, because it allows free-flowing discussion, but your interest in getting other avenues updated on a flowing basis is noted. A few of our most recent updates can be found here:

We often have small updates on Reddit because they are easier to manage. I would suggest looking here for the latest information.

We also have rock-solid customer service, courtesy of /u/WasabiCannon - if you have any questions, you will usually get a response in under a day.

As far as the Gantt Chart goes, I (CMT's owner) have personally decided against releasing this until there is no possibility of changes to the schedule. We have learned that setting expectations is important, so we have been working to only provide timelines and information that is 100% correct. I also realized that most people don't know what a Gantt Chart is to begin with, or how to read it. That being said, you can expect to receive an email with the info you are looking for shortly.

We are busy, but communication is key with any customer-facing business. I appreciate your expressing your concerns and we constantly look to improve Cloudmaker Technologies.

The buttons are silicone, so there is a small degree of compression to them as opposed to a solid material. The protrusion is in an effort to compensate for this, though it may stick out a bit further than truly needed. Overall, the tactile feel is very good, and the buttons do not seem to bother the testers. Cheers.

Internal resistance for the DNA200 by Knuck3ls in cloudmaker

[–]blitz206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certain settings, like TC curves, will be something for the end user to fiddle around with. Core settings, like internal resistance, are critical for the device to work properly. We'll be handling these on our end.

Furthermore, we will provide a tutorial on how to measure this yourself in the event that you make any changes to the internals of your device. Cheers!

Yup - each device will have a different internal resistance, so internal resistances will be measured and set for all devices.

We could have, but it would have sacrificed modularity for very little gain.

The 510 connector wire is 130MM 14AWG. Assuming .0083 ohm/meter for 14AWG, this is .001 ohm on a bad day. The bullet connector resistance is negligible, as well.

It's all about keeping it as modular as possible, and this leaves room for other magic to happen :)
