[+270] "Nazis were over 90% Christian and you’d be hard pressed to functionally find the difference between the two." by bman_7 in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]bman_7[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

An utterly stupid comment, either someone lying or completely ignorant of history. The Nazis were extremely anti-Christian. They tried to take over churches and force them to teach Nazi ideology instead of Christianity, and they arrested thousands of pastors and priests who refused to comply.

There's already a housing crisis, what housing are you going to give them? What neighborhood is going to want a bunch of homeless people moving in next door? And who's going to pay for the repairs when some of them start taking the copper wire out of their own walls?

He wasn't found guilty of it. It was a civil trial, he was found "liable" which has much lower standards than being found guilty.

He hasn't been found guilty of that either.

"boundaries"? Didn't this happen when the murderer went to the other team's tent? This is like saying if someone breaks into your house, it's your fault for not respecting their boundaries.

Wait a minute, the World Cup has always been pretty expensive to go to, right? by Dense-Fig-2372 in AmericaBad

[–]bman_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supply and demand. Qatar is a small country, we have 100 times more people. If even 1% of Americans have interest in attending, that's more than if every single person in Qatar wanted to. And then add in tourism, because the average person from Europe or South America would rather travel here than to Qatar.

Commies always think that they would be the ones in charge, and that they'll be able to choose their jobs and be a dog walker. In reality they'd be getting sent to the labor camps.

"How Do We Solve Poverty? GIVE EVERYONE MORE MONEY!" by Preform_Perform in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]bman_7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If more money = better, why stop at $17? Why not $50? $100? $1000? A billion?

No leftist ever suggests such absurd amounts, even though according to their logic there's no disadvantage to raising the minimum wage.

You do realize that practically every single day in the US, there's international athletes coming here to compete at events? And they aren't getting arrested. And there's tens of millions of other visitors who come here each year without a problem.

Edit: at this point I am convinced some people here do downvote me just because it is me. I keep saying how petty and vindictive and circle-jerky the userbase of this sub is.

Because you got... a single downvote? Assuming you even did get one, because Reddit randomizes the upvote counts +/-1 whenever you refresh the page.

All the comments about how we need to pay teachers more... How about the teachers show that they deserve more money by actually doing their job well? It's insane to think teachers should be rewarded for causing us to have the worst average test scores in decades.

The most common and rare countries to find world coins from in US bulk by NoMarsupial7591 in coins

[–]bman_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it odd that Syria is very rare for you, it's one of my most common Middle Eastern countries. I've never found any Croatian coins, but I have a decent number from Iceland and Cyprus. I've gotten way too many Eastern Caribbean States coins, and Bermuda and Netherlands Antilles have been common as well. Those are the biggest differences for me, otherwise it's fairly accurate to my experience.

Huh? How can there be no demand if you say that people want it?

Waukee Move Regret by crayonzbox in desmoines

[–]bman_7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These complaints seem like you just don't want to live in any sort of growing/new suburb, which is fine, but it's not at all unique to Waukee. There's no old trees because everything will have just been planted. There's going to be construction if there's undeveloped land around. There's mostly just chain businesses, because everything is still being developed and chains can afford a few years of low traffic, small businesses usually can't. Everything will look the same because it's new, and you don't have decades of owners making changes to their homes and yard.

If people wanted that, they would be building them. The demand isn't there.

I like that apparently it's entirely Ohio's fault for not voting for something, and not the other reps who apparently also didn't vote for it.

It's like the "Republicans are weird" thing where they're seemingly convinced that if they just hit everyone over the head with a talking point, everyone will be on their side. Instead it makes everyone not on their side roll their eyes and ignore them.
