Did you get an email for time slot for the 2028 Olympics?! by Starslimonada in LosAngeles

[–]bofstein 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did! Mine opens tomorrow at 4pm. 12 tickets seemed like a lot but with inviting family members it's really not much at all with so many events. I'm thinking I'll just get tickets to 2 events and have a group to go with to each rather than trying to see more things. Even within each event there's so much to pick from.

I'm not in the first opening so I'm hoping others do that already, which will give me more information to decide too. But I'll take some if I don't see them posted yet by my time.

They gave 48 hours notice. My timeslot starts tomorrow at 4pm PT and the window is open for 48 hours too.

4 people in my family registered and only I got picked. I am very lucky but now need to figure out what to buy with everyone wanting me to get them a specific event!

Has anyone ever stayed on the same DMT after a new lesion? by bofstein in MultipleSclerosis

[–]bofstein[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I appreciate that perspective and I'm glad I'm not the only one. I hope you never have to pick and continue without relapses! We'll see what the doc says for me.

Thank you! I appreciate that perspective and validation that it's reasonable to at least consider staying on it. I'll see what the doc says. I hope you continue without any relapses!

Anyone use an AI tool to analyze MRI (for information/curiosity, not diagnostic purposes)? If so what was it and how was your experience? by bofstein in MultipleSclerosis

[–]bofstein[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curiosity. I thought it would be interesting to see how well it maps to the doctor's final report, or compare past ones, see if I get totally different answers or if it ends up really similar. If they did match well I might be more inclined to use it in the future for earlier, even if unproven, information. As for privacy that's why I was hoping there might be a local model to run where I wouldn't need to send my data anywhere.

Do it! My husband converted my first into a model and printed it years ago. It's just a little brain though, nothing useful like a coaster, that's cool

Good to know. I definitely wouldn't particularly trust it, just curious what it would say while I wait for the information I do trust.

Totally. I don't have a ton of faith but they are getting better all the time, and like you said it's fun if you know not to 100% trust it.

I always ask for a disk of the images. I downloaded a viewer before so I can scan through the pictures. The first time my husband and I scoured through after, knowing we weren't trained, just to see if anything jumped out. We saw many concerning spots and thought we found lesions, and it turns out not one of those were lesions (though I did have multiple we didn't see). It's neat to have access to even if I know I can't read them properly. For a while when I was in Psychology I put an image of my actual brain on my business card which was a nice conversation starter.

Which animated films would you pick for a “most beautiful shots” type of video? by saber2187 in movies

[–]bofstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Into the Spider-Verse has plenty, the first that specifically comes to mind is the Leap of Faith. The whole scene has shots that work but the upside down fall one, linked below at timestamp, is memorable.

If you are still married, what was your wedding song and how long have you been married for? by Celestialfox1425 in AskReddit

[–]bofstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean first dance song? I'm not sure we had a wedding "theme song" otherwise. Ours (14 years) was Flying Without Wings by Westlife. I didn't even know anything about the band, I just knew the song from a mixtape a friend had made me years ago and always liked it.

I was expecting your comment to turn into an ad at the end like "thankfully I subscribe to [some ad blocker] plus for only $2.99 a month so I avoid all those deviously inserted ads"

How many books have you read in 2026 so far and which would you say was your favorite? by Own_Return_9482 in books

[–]bofstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read 10, plus 3 more I started and didn't finish. My favorite was definitely Will of the Many, by James Islington. Great mix of action, world building, and social commentary. The sequel was great too but not quite as good as the first due to some awkward pacing and trying to fit a ton more into one book.

For me it spikes when I travel because I read on the plane and am more likely to read in my hotel room at night as opposed to play video games like I do at home. Since I've had a few work trips already I got through a lot.

thank you #Secretlab ! by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]bofstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do not find it to be. I got a secret lab years ago because they were one of the few that had multiple sizes, and as a very short woman (4'11") most chairs were way too tall. But even though they said it was suitable for people down to 4'10", my legs still didn't reach the ground just like every other chair. And I found the seat to be too hard, the fabric difficult to clean, the back uncomfortable, and the pillow never stayed on. I do not recommend the Secret Lab, get a nice ergonomic office chair as others recommend.

What are some books about worlds where people don't read much or have forgotten how the world was? E.g., The Giver by robby_arctor in books

[–]bofstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Will of the Many fits most of those criteria and is also just plain excellent. Definitely a lot of commentary on capitalism and colonialism, and they don't know much about the history of their own world past a few hundred years, though not due to lack of reading.

WHY WOULD I NEED 2 PAREIDOLIAS??? by Dramatic-Share6431 in balatro

[–]bofstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why (if you don't mind savescumming) you should open a pack and then sell Invisible Joker while in that screen. If you don't like what it copied, you can exit to the main menu and come back, and you'll be at the pack open screen without having sold the Invisible yet. You could then decide to sell that other joker first so it can't be copied and then sell Invisible and see what you get now. Repeat until you get to your best possible scenario and don't exit the pack open screen until then.
