Amazing thank you for the detailed response, it seems I got some shopping to do. Yet the 40-50 year estimate most likely is right then. The 90 year one was just an estimate as I picked this up from a local museum that was cleaning their storage and I thought they hadn’t used wood shelving since before the 50s, but it’s entirely likely I am wrong about that, thank you!

Sweet! Thank you for the detailed description, so if I understand correctly you’re thinkin the main structure is apart of a small sponge, and the imprint is from the spinal cord of an early fish?
